guys is still need your help as this is the only form which i need to fill
in travel form
it is mention in the form that list only trips that has been taken our side country of origin or of residenace .

the problem is that im living in saudi arabia while im travelling to me home country on yearly basis do i need to mention that or just select not travelled

Hi Everyone,

By the grace of god, we received our 'ready for visa'/passport request last night via email. We applied to CPC-Ottawa under 2132 a few months back, so CPC seems to be doing an excellent job in terms of processing speed.

We have a few questions regarding next steps:

- Does anyone have an idea of the average processing time CPC takes to issue visas? Is it 10 days or several months? We may need to travel in the next 2 months, so can't have our passports locked up at CIC if it takes several months.

- We live in the USA - does anyone know how to send our passports/receive them back? Is Canada Post self addressed mailing label the best option?

- Regarding mailing label, I read somewhere that CIC does not like the "From" address on the mailing label to say CIC for security/privacy purposes (to minimize chances of the passport getting stolen/lost in transit). What else do we put in the 'From' address then? (our own address?)

As per last yr's avg- It was 30-40 days.....to get stamped Visa....So this is reasonable time i guess...Also if everything is normal then u should get ur PP back from CIC within 60 days of course.....


Also, ppl used Canada post and found their PP in a short time ...

So u can also use that.....otherwise regular mail can delay ur PP....

Also keep blank "FROM" field of the envelope.....

Please update the Spreadsheet.....(+1 in advance for updating)

It was changed i suppose on 20th august, if i send the older form now, will that be a problem?? please please suggest. I have checked the older and newer form, both are same except that for question 12b CIC has changed the number of lines to write duties and the years of experience.

Q 15 of the Generic Form

Hi century,

It does sound ambiguous, but let me try to put my perspective.

The question asks, "Previous countries of residence' as opposed to "Current country of residence".

Based on this distinction,

Case 1 : Person never left the country of origin

He shall not fill anything here.

Case 2: Person left the country of origin and staying in a new country (current residence)

He shall also not fill anything here.

Case 2b : Person left the country of origin, stayed in a new country, came back to country of origin (current residence)

He shall fill details of the previous country of dwelling (if lived for more than 6 months).

Case 3: Person left the country of origin, stayed in one or more countries, and now staying in a new country (current residence)

He shall fill details of all intermediate countries (in which lived for more than 6 months).

Case 3b: Person left the country of origin, stayed in one or more countries, and now back to country of origin (current residence)

He shall fill details of all the previous countries of dwelling (if lived for more than 6 months).
