Actually 1st attempt to charge my CC went unsuccessful due to international limit on my CC.... Now i have updated it requesting my Bank.... so now waiting for CIC to try again...

Bro, I'm in the same boat, How do u come to know the CIC did a first try...is it from the bank or the cic itself informed u?....I was anxious about the CC thing and now worried as Indian RBI have put some new rules about the transaction....

I have another question; I have to apply in a few days. I have been researching for some time to shortlist a city/province; I am inclined towards Calgary, AB and have shortlisted a few more. I'll be collecting more information as well.

Now my question is; does choosing one city/province over another increase or decrease the chances of the approval by the CIC authorities or is it absolutely irrelevant?

P.S. I do understand that one can land and stay at another city from the one mentioned in the application.

Nope buddy there is no such chances......CIC considers files irrespective of this issue.......I can assure u......

thanks for the reply, actually for me to put it there my experience it would be tough, since my experience is like 1yrs 11months, and CIC has put two options either 1yr flat or 2-3yrs, so thats why filling the earlier form is better for me. Any suggestions?

i think you should select 2 to 3 years options as by the time your turn came it will be 2wo years.....ask your emloyer to give open experience letter or post dated one .....

Nope this will never be a cause of rejection....for sure.....

But as said earlier -suggested to use updated one....(u can also use the oscar's suggestion...it will also work)...

In ur case since point for 1 yr and 1 yr 11 months are same , so u need to choose 1 yr here...No other option also available on this form....

Don't be stressed about old version vs new version in this case!

They aligned the form with the eligibility chart...No box to tick not only if you have less than 1 year of experience but also if you have more than 3 but less than 4 years of experience or more than 5 but less than 6 years of experience!.. My gut feel is that the form was revised to make it easier for 'grading' and does not materially change how the number of points are calculated based on number of years of experience. All the other revised forms in August are to reflect the change in law for the age of dependents going down from 21 to 19. Again, no new information requested. So, I wouldn't worry if you used old versions of these forms (assuming you have no dependents between the ages of 19 and 21 of course!) and sent your application in August. Just make sure you use the new forms going forward....

If the description and list of main duties match what you did at your last job(s), you can count this experience for points.
Use this chart to find the number of points based on your number of years of experience.

Experience Maximum 15 points
1 year 9
2-3 years 11
4-5 years 13
6 or more years 15

As per last yr's avg- It was 30-40 days.....to get stamped Visa....So this is reasonable time i guess...Also if everything is normal then u should get ur PP back from CIC within 60 days of course.....


Also, ppl used Canada post and found their PP in a short time ...

So u can also use that.....otherwise regular mail can delay ur PP....

Also keep blank "FROM" field of the envelope.....

Please update the Spreadsheet.....(+1 in advance for updating)
