Thanks for the update buddy. Many people had raised this query after one applicant "saurabk1" reported that he did not include ECA for Masters and was rejected. I believe your case further confirms that there was some bigger issue with his application probably less than 67 points.

Yeah, I also got tensed when I heard about "saurabk1" case .. im really sorry for him. I also think there was some bigger issue with his application.

But I'm glad my case would bring relief to similar cases as mine.

Can you pls share us the letter? Also you may consider sending query at cio-sydney-search-enquiry @ cic.gc.ca attaching the letter.

Also apply again with the rejection letter and cover letter that you can get 21 points.

I think, this is why a cover letter is being recommended by lawyer.

Bro does cic mentioned specifically about ielts points? I guess he might have calculated more education points.

So here are current ratios for 2173 & 2174. Know your chance using this data which seems close.

2174 : Applications in Spreadsheet at or beyond PER state = 67
Applications in CIC at or beyond PER state = 197

Ratio = 67/197 = 34%

2173 : 26/99 = 26%

Good analysis, mate! So, for these "hot" occupations the spreadsheet is probably capturing 1/4th to 1/3rd of the actual number of applications received by CIC. On to the very big question: when is the latest update as of? Is it as of the 4th of May as the website is showing?

My WES account showing till sunday "Evaluation in progress estimated completion date is aug 10" but from 2 days its showing "Evaluation in progress , Thank you". Is there any something i need to be worried???

It may be some silly question but i have every thing in place except ECA report... Please respond

My WES account was showing the status "Evaluation in progress estimated completion date is aug 25" and then similar to your case, turned to "Evaluation in progress , Thank you" yesterday. I was naturally worried, but today the status changed to "Evaluation completed". The evaluation is positive. Guess the same will happen in your case as well. So no need to worry. Chill !!

Good point and I always thought it was strange too. I can't remember any specific people whose degrees didn't match their work experience. But I think I recall some people applying under finance or management NOCs who had IT degrees. And we also have some applicants who have mixed experience in finance/IT or IT/engineering. I think if you were to take the time to go through the 2013 and 2014 spreadsheets carefully you would find a few; I don't have time to do that. Maybe someone with this experience can chime in.

Yes, I did my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, but I applied for NOC Software Engineer and my application got processed sucessfully

If we could add one more field in the Spreadsheet entry asking

'Do you have experience in the same field as your degree ? YES or NO'

it would be easier to get an idea. But I think that ship has sailed.

As expected 1112 and 2174 running neck and neck for hottest NOC. Nearly 20% full already.

Could this CIC update mean that there are 887 PERs received till 11th August? If so, then I believe that 1112 folks in this forum are only c.18% (37/198) of the global population who have applied in this NOC. Is that correct ?

P.S - 37 is picked from S.S and 198 is of course provided by CIC.

Hi guys,

I am waiting for per, which I am expecting any time next week or in 2 weeks. I am being optimistic and thinking for next year steps ahead. I understand that CIC gives 1 year time for landing in Canada after the PR stamp. here is my question: Does the PR status begins from the landing date or from the PR stamp in passport? The reason I ask is, the regulation for maintain PR status is that applicant have to reside in Canada for 3 years out of 5 years.. and how does the time frame is calculated?
If anyone knows this information or the resources where I can find info, please post.

You have to land within 1 year after your medical, not 1 year of visa stamping. Very important!

Once you land you must provide an address where CIC can send your PR cards. Your PR cards can then be used for visa-free entry.

I am not sure when your PR status begins, if it is as stamping, landing or upon receipt of PR cards.
