Hi All,

I am a newbie here and please excuse me if I ask any silly questions.

I have around 7 years of work experience the comes under the purview of noc 2232 and noc 2173. I work with CAD designs and also write software programs using c++,java,vb.net etc to automate the design processes in CATIA (A CAD software).

So, after checking on internet I understood that the cap for 2232 (mechanical engineering technologist) will take more time to get filled as compared to 2173 (software engineering). As I have just begun with the process, I am thinking to apply under 2232. However, I am not sure whether the job responsibilities ( as listed below) that I intended to get in work experience letter would ensure my application under 2232.

• Creation of 3D modeling and assembling of Computer Aided Design (CAD) engineering design in CATIA
• Creation of 2D drafting (CAD engineering drawings) in CATIA and AUTOCAD
• Review the CAD models/drawings created by team to ensure all standards are followed
• Conceptualize proof of concepts in CATIA to gather the design requirements from the customer
• Develop Knowledge Based CAD templates to standardize the engineering design process
• Preparation of technical documentation and presentations
• Carrying out Manufacturing feasibility study of the CAD designs
• Perform functional testing of the engineering designs
• Creation of Design documentation report
• Generate project schedule in accordance with the agreed timelines
• Discuss and update the stake holders on the project progress
• Mentor and train new team members in CATIA

My questions are:

1. With above mentioned job duties, will i be eligible to file my application under 2232 as Mechnical engineering techologist?
2. If not, do I have time to file under 2173? Note: I can only submit the application in late August or early September.

Plz help me as i am uncertain which noc to select.

Can you check whether your experiences match with 2253 Drafting technologists and technicians?

But I believe 2253 is not present in the list. In the job responsibilities of Mechanical technologist(2232), it is mentioned about generation of CAD Designs and drawings
"Prepare and interpret conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for machines and components, power transmission systems, process piping, heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems"

But apart from the above mentioned, the other responsibilties does not match to a larger extent. Does it mean I cannot apply 2232?

Hi,

I am applying NOC under 2281, I have reference letter from my previous company for 3 years, then I joined current company in 2007, My current company is not providing any experience and reference letter regarding my job.

In total I am having 10+ years of experience. How many years of experience will be count and point will get.

If 3 Years is Solid (in terms of Reference Letter and NOC Duties) then 11 points is confirmed.

You could score more if you can convince the VO for the remaining tenure with your current company like using a Manager's Affidavit for a reference letter etc (since your Company is not willing to provide you with a LOR).

need ur advice i recieved prescreen mail from nova scotia new stream (without job offer). i have applied in it on 12th march . guys mail is including my file no. and they have written that they will take upto three months to asses my file .do u think guys i have chance to get nomination letter in it??? plz dvice if any one knows the procedure .thanks

Nobody can ascertain this bro. Suggest you to apply for FSW as well. Whichever application is processed earlier, choose that.

I have qualified on 2 different NOC categories. One is Computer Engineering and Healthcare for the other one.
I have 5 years education on Computer Engineering and 2 years for heathcare.
I have 1 year and 3 months work experience for Computer Engineering and 4 years experience for Health care.

My question is how are day going to calculate my education and work experience score? Is it two different calcuation and pick up the highest or calculate both then add up?

Please help me understand this. Thank you.

The type of education and the type of experience are mutually exclusive.

Your ECA equivalency will determine the score of your highest education.

You total years of experience (regardless of NOC) will determine your score for the work experience.

CIC website says the forms should be printed on white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper.

Doesn't say anything about the size. You should use regular paper size, A4 or Letter, whichever is convenient to you.
