Greetings Everyone!

It is my first time here so I will say nice meeting you all.

I am writing because I am applying for my FSW. My consultancy said they have submitted the documents to CIO even though I do not have the result of my IELTS yet. They said it is ok as long as I have the IELTS receipt and they said they have attached a letter explaining that my IELTS is to follow. Same thing with ECA I do not have it yet bu according to them they sent my applications already to the CIO.

They were able to provide me the courier receipt in fact when I did the tracking it was received June 16, 2014.

My question is, Is it really possible to submit an application without the IETS and ECA resut yet?

I hope you can help and enligthen me. Thank you. God Bless all.

Does any one (forum members from India) know of the process for translation of documents and affidavit accompanying it? Do the notary people do the translations as well?

I need to get my BC translated, and also need to get an affidavit prepared specifying that my name is not on it. I know the latter can be done by the notary folks.

Thanks!
Notary public in India can do that .
Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information. Translations by family members are not acceptable.

Welcome to the forum .
It is not possible to send your application without original of IELTS result and WES report.

Proof of language proficiency

When you submit your application to the CIO, you must include original results of one of the following language tests from a testing agency designated by CIC.

Your language test results must not be more than two years old at the time that we receive your application at the CIO.

English

CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (General test only)
IELTS: International English Language Testing System (General Training test only)

Minimum Education Requirement

You must have a completed Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential OR a completed foreign educational credential AND an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by an organization designated by CIC if your educational credential was obtained outside Canada.

The ECA report will confirm the equivalency of your completed foreign educational credential(s) to completed Canadian educational credential(s). The ECA report will also indicate the authenticity of your foreign educational credential(s).

Note: if the primary occupation you have identified in your application is an occupation for which a professional body has been designated by CIC, you must submit an ECA report from that designated professional body with your application to the CIO. If you have identified an occupation for which a professional body has not been designated by CIC, you can submit an ECA report from any one of the other designated organizations.

For more information on the organizations designated by CIC to issue ECA reports, refer to the following page.

Note. If you do not have a completed Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential, and you do not submit a completed foreign educational credential and an ECA report with your application to the CIO, your application will not be processed and will be returned to you as incomplete.

Hi GuYS,

I have a question here. My SSC certificate has my name, dob, father's name. but it does not have my mother's name. Will that be a problem.

I dont think so that will be a problem. If you are submitting BC then it has a name of father and mother. So, most probably that would be ok.

About Express Entry::

This is food for thought for all of us who are wondering about what this "Express Entry" will be....

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/acts-regulations/forward-regulatory-plan/irpr-eoi.asp
Amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations to support Mandatory Electronic Applications for Prescribed Applications under the Express Entry system
Objective
The Government of Canada is preparing to modernize the way it treats immigration applications for certain immigration categories.

In early 2015, the government will launch a new active recruitment model known as the “Express Entry” system. This system will help switch from the passive processing of applications in the order we get them, to one that prioritizes processing for people with the skills to succeed in Canada.

Express Entry will work in two steps. First, prospective immigrants will indicate their interest in coming to Canada by providing information electronically about their skills, work experience, and other biographical information. Express Entry will be a mandatory first step in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In addition, provinces and territories will have the option to use Express Entry to identify additional provincial nominees for the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) over and above their provincial nomination allocations to an overall and by-jurisdiction limit. Individuals who meet certain eligibility criteria will have an expression of interest placed in a pool and be ranked against others already in the pool. The authority to require that expressions of interest be submitted electronically already exists in the legislation that received Royal Assent in December 2013.

Second, CIC will invite the best candidates, including those with in-demand skills or with job offers, to submit an electronic application for permanent residence. Would-be applicants to the FSWP, FSTP, CEC and sub-set of PNPs, will not be allowed to make an application for permanent residence unless invited to apply. In this second step, the legislation will provide the authority to prescribe, by Governor in Council regulations, who would be required to submit an electronic application and how, as well as exceptions to submitting applications electronically.

Indication of business impacts
There will be no anticipated business impact. The One-for-One Rule and the Small Business Lens do not apply.

Public consultation opportunities
Members of the public and interested parties may provide comments when regulatory proposals are pre-published in the Canada Gazette, Part I.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=869&t=6
Will skilled immigrants be considered under both the current admissions system and Express Entry in 2015?

No. Each application is assessed according to the eligibility requirements and caps in place at the time CIC receives it. In order to be considered for Express Entry, people will have to apply separately (starting in January 2015) using a new electronic application management system. There will not be any application caps or occupation lists under Express Entry.

There is always a time lag between when people apply and when they settle in Canada. As a result, there will be an overlap between people being processed under these caps in 2014 and people applying under Express Entry in 2015.[/b]

Though these are news articles and announced not from the cic, it will give us an idea about this new scheme "Express Entry"

GuYS,

I have another problem here. I have wrongly mentioned the DOB of my mother when I applied for student visa in 2009. I was granted the visa. Now, I am going to fill FSW forms and will fill in actual DOB.
Is it going to be a problem?

Any one ever used Payoneer debit card for their payment?

Debit card cant be use for fee payment. You may use Credit card, Certified Cheque, DD or Money order.

Payment method options

Complete the Fee Payment Form - Application for Permanent Residence (IMM 5620) and include it with your application to the CIO. On-line payments are not accepted by the CIO.

In Canadian funds only, you may pay

by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the "Receiver General for Canada." or
with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
Note: Certified cheques, bank drafts and money orders may have expiry dates. When you submit your application to the CIO, the expiry date must be at least five months into the future.

If there is no expiry date on your certified cheque, money order or bank draft and it is drawn on a foreign bank, it can only be cashed for 6 months from the date of issue. To ensure it can still be cashed when the fee payment is processed at the CIO, it must be issued no more than 30 days before you send your application to the CIO.

If you are paying by credit card, please ensure that your credit card will be valid for at least nine months from your submission date.

If we are unable to process your payment, your application will be returned to you.

Important information. Each application from a principal applicant must include a fee payment form. This form must include the fees for the principal applicant and any accompanying family members.

The same fee payment form may not be used for more than one principal applicant.

Hi eyesberg,

Welcome to the club!!!
I believe you should not send your application without original ECA and IELTS because CIC is going to validate your request based on their criteria which clearly says IELTS and education assessment are mandatory. So your application might get reject.
My suggestion is if you don't fall under hot NOC code please spend some time to collect both the reports and then only send the application to avoid rejection.

Good luck for your application...

Thanks,
Navneet
