Ok here is the basics:

1) If you were employed and you went for vacation .. you wouldn't out it because your actual status is employed.

2) If you were unemployed and you went for vacation .. it would more likely be considered travel , which you would document in personal history.

Either way you would need to mentioned it in the Supplementary Information Form ..

I hv three years of previous experience in NOC 0111 but currently i m working in a bank from last three years which has no link with NOC 0111..my question is that should i hv to provide refernce letter from current bank job as well? Or just previous job experience letter which shows my duties of 0111 is enough? I dont want to inform my boss or anyone else in my bank that i m applying for canada..is it neccesary to provide documnts for current job?

Thx! here two examples of the ref letter from my employers:

During XX’s empolyment he was working on two application-driven projects: 3DTV and intelligent management and algorithms for adaptive video streaming. In the first project, his role was to improve the visual quality of 3D video coding for 3DTV application. In the second project, he was responsible to propose and optimize the scalable video coding configurations for adaptive streaming in the application of WebTV and 2nd screen. The purpose was to provide higher quality of experience for clients to watch video over Internet than existing streaming techniques. He also took part in various software evaluation and implementations, e.g., the demonstration of Low-Latency Video Delivery through HTTP Layered streaming, which provides lower latency than the standard Apple Internet streaming technique.


During XX’s employment with us, he was responsible to perform R&D activities for the standardization of a new video coding standard. His role was to develop new algorithm to improve the compression efficiency of video codec, generate new patents and make proposals to International Standards.


NOC 2174 standard description as multimedia developer:
Interactive media developers write, modify, integrate and test computer code for Internet applications, computer-based training software, computer games, film, video and other interactive media. They are employed in computer software development firms, information technology consulting firms, and in information technology units throughout the private and public sectors.

Interactive media developers perform some or all of the following duties:

Program animation software to predefined specifications for interactive CDs, DVDs, video game cartridges and Internet-based applications

Program special effects software for film and video applications

Write, modify, integrate and test software code for e-commerce and other Internet applications

Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements

Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications

May lead and co-ordinate teams of interactive media developers

May research and evaluate a variety of interactive media software products.

Oh I see. PER not there is not a matter of concern just yet as many from May 1st to May 6th are pending. E.g. Mira, binuky etc. to name a few.

As long as you used the NOC guidelines well for the reference letter it should be fine. Doesn't need to be in a given format, but the content should be very similar to that provided by CIC in that guide. It's up to a person to use bullet point or paragraph style but use as much similar keywords and similar sentences to capture the essence of the guide. Just listing what one has done not paying attention to what is asked (or rather presented as an example to us) might cause an issue. I don't know what you shared with them so can't comment on your specific case. Good luck, though!!!

Hi binuky:

Did some research on your case. Found that on FSWP upgradation issue by WES, it may taka a long long time to get PER. Following the cases for FSWP 2013 applicants and the time between Fee Encashed date and PER date is given below:

It is mentioned in the Doc checklist to submit it for all employments ...

But since u r having difficulties and u r not claiming points for current exp...In that case u can submit appointment letter/Payslips/Ur business card.. and a cover letter that u r unable to collect current employment letter.....U can also take a letter from HR (without job duties-if possible...).

This will suffice....

[size=10pt] To all friends here, If you want your NOC roles and responsibilities reviewed in the forum this is what I suggest. It will make life easier for the reviewer. I would ask you to copy and paste the NOC guidelines for this NOC along with the below. Also color code similar roles in both these (i.e. in the NOC guideline and in your below format) in one set of color, thereby using a variety of colors like red, green, purple, blue etc to code similar lines from both in one color. That way it will become very easy for any layman to review. And yes, treat CIO guys as layman (rather than experts on your NOC) to get through this hurdle; the key is a good match of 'keywords' and to build similar sentences by keying in specific words that match with your current role. That way you will be 100% safe. Thanks!!

if u achieve 67 points without include experience of latest job, just try to obtain experience letter without role & responsibilities. You can tell ur HR tht u want to apply for Visit visa and need employment letter mentioning ur date of joing, designation, salary etc.

Note that experience letter with role & responsibilities is required only if you want to claim points for an experience. Also keep in mind that CIC wording is ambiguous in terms of non eligible NOC related experience i.e. if it will be included in 67 point calc or not. Therefore, its always better to calculate ur points without such experience and supplement ur points by spouse IELTS and relative in Canada (if any), rather than counting on such experience.

Hi.. Is it true that cic dnt accept self declaration????? I had also attached the same wid other proofs of emoyement including appointment letter,bank statement,ITR, and ID card copy... I am quite worried....
