Hello,

Quick questions regarding employer reference letters. I applied in category 0111 in November.

1, Does CIC contact the employers to validate the letter of reference or the VO does it?
2, Do they always contact the employer or only sometimes?
3, What happens if they cannot reach the company/boss? (company went bankrupt, no longer exists - so noone will answer the phone/email)
4, Should we send an additional letter to CIC explaining the situation? We mentioned this bankruptcy issue in the application, but only gave the central contact information for the company. Shall we write now and give them the private phone number of my ex-boss? Or shall we wait for PER and send an update to VO?

1. You are talking about CIO, not CIC. The one who call the employers or arrange a visit is the Local VO.
2. Not every time, only if they are not satisfied with the documents the applicant has provided or if he/she is selected for checking the quality of the selection process.
3. No idea...
4. You should contact your local VO and update them about the situation after getting PER. Again, not sure how they will take it...

Medical done on December 10th ( panel Physician had E medical enabled)
I confirmed with Physician's office that my medical results were uploaded to CIC on December 17th,
3rd line added to ECAS on December 19th :We have received medical results

I guys I posted a while ago that I was unable to log onto my ECAS. I received PER on the 8 December 2014 and I am still unable to log on?????

I have tried every possible combination - using both Application number and UCI Number and neither work!!!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

I sent an email to CPC-O yesterday ,asking for the status of my application after i have received the third line... They replied me within few hours..

It sounds such as musical reply
I think they are so busy with another urgent task

I think they must have templates for answering questions. I got the same reply

Have you tried logging in from other PC? Are you mentioning UCI/ date of birth/ place of birth and last name spelling correctly?

If every thing is fine, try restart computer then do it again? Yet not working, then try from other PC or after 24 hrs.

Hey guys, I had couriered my application via fedex yesterday and it is in transit showing expected delivery date as 29th Dec 1700 hrs however when I called the fedeX guy they told me that it will get delivered by 24th December. Please share your experience with fedex and let me know if it does reach before the estimated date?

Nw i ve heard CIC is on holidays from Dec 19 to Jan 03 .. Does that mean i ll have to wait another 12-13 days for my PER ... really sad to hear this ..

dear frnd....watever u heard is false ..few weeks bak, one f our forumite posted bout talking to a cic customer care agent who said tht CIC will close only on 25 nd 26 dec ..... so pls wait for few more days....

You will be able to work as soon as you receive your PR card, but you will also need to get your Social Insurance Number (SIN), which employers need to start paying you. You just need to visit a government office with your PR card and they will issue you a number on paper I believe. Should be pretty easy.

You are right buddy.. One of my friends who is a Canadian citizen confirmed the same.. You need a SIN number to be able to work (be hired)

Provide your full name/ first name in 'Family name' field and see if you can log in. Some members' have been given this solution by CIC....
