Hi All,

Thanks for all your previous answers.

1) I am getting my papers/documents notarized , Do we have to get notarize ALL the Copies(i mean each single page).
2) MY JOB titles match 2174 where my job roles match 2173 , do i have to choose 2173
3) The MINIMUM continuous employment , is this should be with the same company, or i can work with different companies continuously which cover 1 year period, i am confused here , as i am self employed i change companies frequently to provide IT services to my clients. I can get reference letters form them stating my company(and me) has provided services to them. and payment details etc. Would CIC consider this as Continuous employment.
4) I have submitted my PCC from UK , USA and INDIA as lived in all the above places, But they take are taking more time, Can i send Postal conformation as a proff that iu have submitted and waiting for them.
5) and for additional documents for self employment we have asked or charted accountant to certify my self employment income , like dividends , cash , salary , Tax returns to Gov etc. is this sufficient

Thanks in advance will be waiting for all your valuable replies
1. You only need notarization if it's a translated document. If you decide to do notarizations anyway, I suppose it's up to you but I would notarize each page.
2. The important thing is the NOC that your DUTIES match. Title is irrelevant. Choose the NOC that matches your DUTIES! This is CRUCIAL!
3. If you are self-employed you haven't changed employers, you are just serving different clients. That's not a problem and will count as continuous. However please read carefully the guide and associated documents about how to get the equivalent of employer reference letters if you are self-employed.
4. You don't have to submit PCC at the time of initial application, you can supply them later after receiving the request from your local visa office. Don't lose time waiting for PCCs and don't even bother to provide any evidence that you've ordered them. Just state that you will provide them when requested from the local VO.
5. For self-employment, read the guide and document checklist and follow them carefully. The crucial thing here is the reference letters. No need to take so many extra steps to confirm your income if you are providing proof of payment from your clients. Providing additional categories of documents that aren't requested by CIC could create confusion unless you explain them very carefully. Just follow the guide and document checklist.

Century, Ashif and other Bangladeshi friends please help on this one,

Regarding the background declaration form point 7 ( Education) section "FROM-TO" details for our SSC,HSC duration as Century has rightly said ,

"SSC: XXXX-Jan to last month of SSC exam held
HSC: 1st College attendance month to last month of HSC exam held

If you forget, estimate but try to ensure that the duration is 2 years."

I am confused for secondary education xxxx-Jan , the year should be which year? should it be the year of Grade 6 ? As it is considered part of secondary education , or grade 9? or grade 10?

Please suggest

Hi

I have taken a car loan .so can I show car as my asset and loan as my liability ..or better leave both as 0
But I was thinking that CIC can easily check that I have loan on my name and why I am not mentioning that in my application. Please advice
That poster was wrong. A car is an asset and a car loan is a liability and both should be disclosed.

@ Wik.haider

Good analysis +1, will appreciate if you can dig deeper into it. I dont have access to the data now (blocked in ofc  )

Quiet possible that the applications are processed VO wise, for specialization in same type of info/issues or they may be processing based on backlog at specific VO. So in either case, actual FIFO is based on dates, but same day applications are processed based on VO.

BUT, in my opinion, the REASON IS PROXIMITY of the sender to CANADA, hence less time taken during courier so most of the 1st may applicants were actually OTTAWA VO. What data says about it?

For 5/9 CC charged VO was Ottawa. Food for thought?

Wik, Its just that USA/Canada applicants had advantage to send their app sooner coz of shorter distance nothing else.
maybe. or it is because officer doing ottawa applications is quicker or requires less background checks.

lots of possibilities open to interpretation. I was just stating an observation especially for ppl whose may 1 applications havent been charged as yet.

Guys please reply if anyone has come though this query before or any expert view on the same

I did the following mistakes. My application is sent and recieved in NS.
The below mistakes are in the New Generic form
1) page 3, in Spouse personal details i have not provided given name exactly as mentioned in the passport. e.g i mentioned Dean Jones instead of DeanJones. Will this be ok since it is cleary mentioned in the application to provide details as mentioned in passport

2) In dependents details section, page 4, question no. 16 it should be my First Name and Last Name or My Spouse First Name and Last Name? I entered my Spouse First Name and Last Name. If i entered incorrect, Will this effect? if so what way?
To me if someone is:
i. Not intended to misrepresenting
ii. Not missing any vital information
iii. Not giving signature
He will not be rejected. CIC officer does not work in binary; they have given discretionary powers.

For your case 1, it is nothing but typo; it is not intended to misrepresenting name rather you must have submitted different documents/forms where your wife's name could be found. So for this mistake, your file will not be rejected.

For case 2, your wife cannot not get married to herself; I am certain, you have provided other forms and marriage certificate, where it is clear that she married you. So this will also not lead to rejection too.

However, your application can at worst case get delayed for correcting at VO.

You can be certain almost 80% of applicants make one or two errors and it never get detected by them. Just relax. Don't loose sleep on insignificant errors.

Please seniors answer my two questions:

1. In Generic Form what would be dependent type for spouse i.e. Wife? Dependent type is automatically grayed out and there is no drop down menu showing.
Is this ok?

2. I am living in UAE since 2010, in q(12b) Previous countries of residence, i am having error in typing date. When i am trying to type the date that's mentioned in my residence permit(i.e. From: Oct-2010 To: Oct 2014) its giving error that "MUST BE EQUAL OR LESS THAN TODAY'S DATE".
Did anyone faced similar situation? What to do then?
1. Spouses don't have a dependant type. The form will automatically grey it out and you need not enter anything.

2. You can't enter future dates in that manner. What you mean is "to present." If the form allows you to leave it blank, do so and write "present" by hand after printing. If it doesn't allow you to leave it blank, enter the latest possible date and add an annexure stating that you meant to convey "to present" but the form would not allow you to enter this.

Hello..

I need to ask Something..
i have got experience certificates from my previous employers. In these certificates period of employment, post, responsibilities are mentioned. its also mentioned that full time paid worker. but annual salary plus benefits are not mentioned. I have salary certificate from my current employer.
Now m confused, will it be a problem ?
kindly help..!
It's not ideal but shouldn't be a problem. I would explain in an annexure why the letters don't contain that information.

Thanks for the reply :)

However for Schedule Background Declaration form, Section 6- point d- Do I need to mentioned the details of the returned file though it was not refused! Please suggest!
Did you receive a UCI number with your returned application? If so you should put it on your new application.

Your question is a very interesting one. I don't know for sure but I can analyze the answer based on the wording. In my mind, you were not "refused" a visa, you were simply not allowed to apply for one. So I think the answer is no. However for the sake of completeness and honesty you might consider including an annexure explaining what happened before.

PLEASE NOTE that my interpretation may not be correct. CIC may disagree with me and may consider the answer to that question to be yes! You may consider consulting an attorney. I can refer you to mine if you wish. PM me if you want a reference.
