To know the status of your application by calling cic from outside canada

call at - 0016139444000
select 1 for English
then 1 for foreign affairs
2 for immigration
call is being transferred to cic
then 1 for English
2 for status
1 for PR
8 digit client id number will be asked
listen the request 3 times without entering client id number
then the call is automatically transferred to an agent
agent will ask information about last name, first name, date of birth, application received date, email id etc
then agent will check in the system and shall give feedback.

You need to send both bachelors and master degree. Now that you have already sent your application, you need to wait and see the outcome.

Thank you all. My ICAS credential assessment states that the prerequisite requirement for an MSc is a "Bachelors degree".

I have attached all my certificates under item 13 (proof of education) of the document checklist plus I wrote a explanation letter to CIC by attaching an email from ICAS which stated that the highest degree is being evaluated.

Will this all be enough? Or I need to wait for the ICAS evaluation of my bachelors degree to be completed and thereafter send them additional courier.

Please advise.

Well, I don't think that would be enough. You should send your Bachelors evaluation as soon as you receive it with a covering letter. Best of luck.

@ Wrongly filling Applicant name / Wife name.

It's not a fatal mistake and is a very common mistake. It will just delay your application a bit [also frustration for the entry guy] and will not be returned. However if you have left a field blank in any of the form, that would have been fatal.

Quick question: if one forgets to send spouse's travel information, does this qualify as grounds for application to be returned?

in the Generic appliation form under the Dependents section.
in the section filled for my wife i mentioned her name as spouse instead of mentioning my name as her current spouse.

If you left it blank it might be returned, but if you wrote "None" or similar, it probably wouldn't be returned initially but you could have more serious problems later on when they check.

hello all ...

I want to update some information ( I have a new baby now and want to add him to the application) I received my PER on 10th July and upon calling CIC now found that my file is still at Nova Scotia CIO .. do you recommend that I wait till my file reach VO or send the updates to CIO and can I send those documents via e-mail (scans) or send the hard copies via ordinary mail ... and what documents u think will be needed for my child and do I need to send new forms also ?

plz help
