As of May 4, 2013, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will only consider federal skilled worker (FSW) applications from people who have:

at least one year of continuous and paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time) work experience in a single occupation,
within the last 10 years,
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 edition of the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), and who are:
1. in one of the 24 eligible occupations,

and whose application is received under the occupation’s sub-cap and overall FSW cap, or

2. with a valid offer of arranged employment, or

3. who are applying under the PhD stream (see below) until the PhD cap of 1,000 applications is reached.

All applicants must also:

meet the minimum language threshold (and submit approved language test results), and
submit a Canadian educational credential or foreign credential and an assessment of their foreign education from an approved agency, and
meet all requirements of the FSW Program.
Applications per eligible occupation:

The cap year began on May 4, 2013, and will end on April 30, 2014, unless otherwise stated by the Minister.

Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office.

I still can't understand 4 May is a Saturday - how could CIO receive application on that date..moreover, the forms were only updated on 4 May..the only explanation to this if these figures are really as of 4 May is people flooded into Sydney and queued overnight at CIO office. >:(

Dear friend, it is not relating to any date. That is just written to inform us that all application nos. mentioned from May 4 is approximate. It is simple, since the program started from May 4, they have to write it.

Regarding CAP, nothing is sure. it can be of any date. the point is, this much files have passed the completeness check.

There are 3 options:
- First (which i doubt), this update has partially some of the applications received in May 8. and that means that our 2 friends here in this forum are included.

- Second (which i doubt also), this update is for the applications received till the end of May 8. But this sounds strange as there are so many applications received in this forum at this date and the chance that they are rejected is soooooooo low.

- Third (which i think it's the case), this update is still for the applications received before May 8. this would show that there are tons of applications received by CIO in the first week ..... That's not nice thing to know actually.

Cross our fingers and Let's hope for the best for the people here, there are lots of deserved applicants in this forum who should be in the 5000 Applicants of this year.

I like your analysis but they must have covered applications till May 8th (partially) as 2 guys from our forum got charged.
I guess they must have received at least 80 - 90 applications by May 8th. this explains 65 cap update as of today.
Now if this forum represent lets say up to 10% of global applications then we would have at least 8 - 9 guys report their CC/DD charge which I think they will within next 2 - 3 days.

What's your NOC ? You'll definitely be in 300, unless some docs are missing, in that case they may return the package. Overall 65 will be at most upto 8th May. If you had paid using CC, you can check Transaction history, that way you will know if they accept your app or not. Normally, when you app is ready for further processing, they'll email you with your FileNumber.

I know you're smiling now. :) just to change the taste and hard pressure for all of us.
I'm sure a lot of good news shall be heard tomorrow.

To all the members in the forum please it's a request stop ur **** calculations and interpretation. If ur good at this u would not be in this forum would be working in Canada and settled. Just update what's good for the forum. ***** ideas and logics people have. This is the real reson why they have capped to 300 or Canada will be flooded with speculators. Just get a life and post informative news as which has authentication and facts.

Silent. No update at all.
Where are those 65 ppl on CIC updates coming from? :'(
Maybe majority comes from Canada and USA!
I think the update today may be those may 7th ( and a little ppl in May 8th) while most Asian applicants arrived at may 8th. That is the only reason I can imagine to explain why there are not many ppl in this forum report their cc charged.

Also it will be great if u can list the changes between 2 updates so far ( just as 2011 spreadshtet did) thus ppl can compare the number and find the trend.

Again, what is my application status? 555. >:(

Guys you forget to consider applicants within Canada. what I believe is that majority applications out of 65 was from applicants from Canada possibly thorough Canadian agents. Only they could have delivered their applications on 6th and 7th May. This also proves in our sheet as we dont have many guys whose applications got delivered on 6th or 7th.
USA and South America guy's earliest delivery date was 8th May.

If this is the case and now I feel it must be then CIO just started to work on May 8th applications after finishing May 6th and 7th.

Hello, Why this calculation and interpretation seem so stupid to you ? Can you enlighten us with some CIC inside information, that may help us ?
