will not matter at this stage. it will be cross checked at a later stage by local VO once your file is through fro CIO office. they might ask for originals also. However, it is good idea to attach your business card in the application.

And from another thread:

IF you are attaching English / French translations of any of the document. That they must be notarized. Rest are not.

So jig nesh and jigzyy, please clarify this for me (I asked it before in this forum).
For birth certificate (original in Persian), I did have a photocopy of my official English translation I brought with me to Canada. As I didn't have access to the translator, what I included in my application was a certified true photocopy of my birth certificate and a publicly notarized photocopy of my official English translation. I could not get an affidavit. Based on what you said, as this is not one of the mandatory documents, I guess I'll be fine, right? Worst case, when it goes to local VO, they might ask for it, am I right?

This is exactly my case, my score without my spouse IELTS was enough for us, so my spouse didn't have this IELTS exam and won't have it (unless they require it)... i was so confused that i changed it in the application and reprint it twice.
what i did at the end is that i wrote that she's speaking good english but i didn't include her IELTS.

My opinion is that the IELTS test for a spouse is not mandatory like the main applicant and the most important documents which they can cause to return the application for being missed are the mandatory ones.
My spouse is an english teacher, i can't write that she doesn't speak english, it would raise more red flags than just saying that she's speaking good english but we don't need her IELTS score for our application.

Where did you write all this? Did you attach a separate explanation sheet?

On the Form Schedule 3, we just have to check as Yes or No for Spouse English proficiency....If we check Yes for spouse, then it is written on the form that please attach the spouse IELTS result.....

I've thought of it. May be at a later stage :)

I didn't write it anywhere, i was just swinging between the two opinions and then i just used my common sense. Actually i intended to write the explanation in a cover letter, but as i was so convinced that it's not important i forgot to write.

What i mean that if you sent your application already, so don't worry this won't be a big problem. If you are still planning to send your application, so for you just to feel fine, you can write your explanation in a cover letter and attach it to the application.

Hey guys, newbie here.

I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been with the ECA? Did people go for CES, ICASC or WES (if not a medial applicant), and how long did they take?

CES says their processing times are 11 weeks on average, ICASC says 6-8 weeks and WES says seven working days.

Obviously at the moment time is of the essence! What has everyone's experience been of these establishments? Many thanks for any replies. Good luck all!

Cheers,
Jimothy

I agree.......All I want to be updating now is CC charged/DD encased Yes. Yes. yes. Yes......... :)

Jimothy...thus far ALMOST everyone has used WES, with varying results...some like myself who got in early have had a fairly good experience, some have had horrible experiences, however I don't think anyone has had to wait as much as 6 weeks.......

Thanks islandbabe - you seem to be a top poster!

OK. I thought aboot going with another ECA company just to avoid any backlogs with WES if everyone else here went through WES, but then I saw the time estimates for the other companies...

Well I used ICAS of Canada and my experience with them was superb. Once you send in all document as specified in their website, its faster than the 6weeks currently specified.
