For birth certificate (original in Persian), I did have a photocopy of my official English translation I brought with me to Canada. As I didn't have access to the translator, what I included in my application was a certified true photocopy of my birth certificate and a publicly notarized photocopy of my official English translation. I could not get an affidavit. Based on what you said, as this is not one of the mandatory documents, I guess I'll be fine, right? Worst case, when it goes to local VO, they might ask for it, am I right?
