I'm sitting in ICiCI bank and they say that the draft validity is only for 3 monthhs.. How did ppl from india got their DD made for 6 months.. Plz reply as I'm out of office just for this .. Thx

Looking around for thomas cook...

Checked with banks.. They say as per RBI guidelines all drafts can have max 3 months validity only.. And it is valid for all banks..

Donno what to do as my credit card does not have that kind of limit to allow me pay the CIC fee..

How did people in INdia got their 6 months DD made.??. All banks have option of only 3 months.. Even with thomas cook.. It is as per RBI guidelines that DD's have 3 mth validity only..

Dollar DD is not a problem... Validity is.. As per CIC guidelines the DD should have validity of atleast 5 months after submission.. How to get this done in Delhi ??

Though I am not the expert on this subject but here is what I suggest. Yes your problem for 3 months validity for DD seems a hurdle. I have read in the fee form IMM 5620 that the combination of credit card and DD is possible provide the payment by each method is equal to single or multiple amount per person. In the worst case, if you cannot find other bank with 5 months DD validity, You can check if you can manage some portion of your total fee via credit card (9 months validity) and the rest via 3 month DD and attach the note mentioning the limitation by your bank and that you will be able to send another DD if the validity date has elapsed after CIC processes your application. I believe the payment is the first thing CIC does to initiate processing. There are fair chances that your application processing may fall within 3 months’ time frame.

Others please guide If the above may work.
