Why did they evaluate your Master's degree as "Double Bachelor", or is that how a foreign Master's is evaluated by WES?

My bachelors was of 3 years only and masters 1 and half years, may be that's the reason!!

You can't update your mailing address unless you get your UCI number or Reference Number.

I already have it from earlier rejection of my file in 2011. Can I do it then? How soon it will be updated? What is the best way to do it ? Is there any harm in giving a Canadian address as mailing address ?

This has got me really worried as to what kind of nitpicking detail they might reject applications on .... with the thousands of applications received and it does appear that they have started work just 2-3 days back, its a process of reject applications rather than try to fill cap.

Do you see the essential difference in approach? verify to fill cap vs look for any microcosmic ground to reject ?

@ Marta, I'm feeling very sad about you. This is just such a naive reason to send a genuine application back. I'm hoping that by the time I'm writing this, your are already sending your renewed application to CIC. Good Luck.

Checklist is the first document they check being on TOP of all the documents. There is no doubt that Marta used an older Checklist as well. Didn't they say anything on that?

Can anyone of you post the last update dates of the all forms involved in this process? I used older checklist that required wife's documents; the new one doesn't. I'm not able to make out what will happen with that!!

I think the reference number of 2011 file will not work, you must have applied under FSW 2013, if you have not applied at all under FSW 2013, you may still have chance if your NOC is there in the 24 eligible Occupations. I don't think that there is any harm in mentioning the local Canada address as "Mailing Address" in your application. However, you may clarify by attaching a separate note that your uncle resides in Canada, and you would prefer your uncle's address as mailing address.

Aditya, that was really thoughtful. I agree completely with you. I don't understand that are they so dumb to understand that it was the CIC site which gave that information on the morning of that date.

Here is my solution to this problem.

CIC should put a unique serial no. rather than date on the forms that they have on their site. Every time CIC updates their site they should increase that no. in sequence. Also they should publish on their site that the new form serial no. and date updated from time to time so that it is easy and convenient for everyone to check from CIC site what is their latest form. When a candidate submits a file he could make a copy and attach with the application to make CIC satisfy that he has submitted the right form until date.

Not only that when they open up any program they should put announce which serial no. ( sequence no. ) of the forms will they accept in their checklist and after that announcement until the program is open the same serial no. mentioned in the check list or serial no. in progression should be accepted.

Looks like this CIC stuff is rather a game of probability than ingenuity.

Spoken to the HDFC bank regarding credit card and here's the summary;

I explained them the entire story. They kept me on hold several times and went to manager to clarify points. The call took around 1 hour 40 minutes (basically they listened everything carefully) and in the end they said we currently do not see any solution to this because the back-end CC team in Chennai is a separate wing. Also, they currently do not know when new CCs will be issued. I clearly told, soon their call-centers will be flooded by such queries; not only with people applying to Canada but to any other country in general.

The bank will start processing new cards (with EVM) and start sending them out to customers. However, they haven't started that procedure yet. So it looks like to me that they are gonna miss the 30-Jun deadline and then RBI will have to push the deadline to some other date (but that's just a guess!).

Secondly, upon the issue of new EVM (chip based) CC, the older one will be valid until another 60 days. So I'm hoping, even if we start counting 60 days from 15-Jun, it will until 15-Aug that our old CCs will be valid. Now, I'm hoping CIC charges it before that date at max.

I have this ID, customerservice.cards @ hdfc.com, and request you to email your concerns explaining everything to them and a strong message be passed so that they understand the gravity of the situation and work out a reliable solution. I'm going to write them now.

It does seem that CIC is no different from govt office in India. They do not care a Flying Fish about the applicants. The people will pay for their mistakes(cic's) . if they have verified the forms they will know well that rest of the forms are updated and only the 1 form is not updated due to cic updating it on a later day, It is not the case of old forms being used from a previous years applicant. They have no heart , and they will do their job to the letter as per their whims and fancies. It only foretells of a grueling task ahead for the applicants whose application does get selected in the cap count.
