Hi , I did the same mistake. Mine was also received on Feb 01, 2017. I received it back on Feb 24,2017. I had my mailing address Toronto,ON. They sent it back saying I should fill up Use of Representative form in that case.

Hello! Did you apply through your representative? if not, why would they ask you to resubmit the application with the "Use of representative form"?

They say the address in generic application form should be of principal applicant. If not, the person living at the address given will be considered as PA's representative. Can be friend or family member (not necessary a lawyer only). I corrected the form by filling up PA's address and sent the package again.

Hi all -

For February applicants wondering if they should be worried that they haven't gotten AOR1 yet - don't be! Ours was delivered Jan 30 and only today did we get AOR1. Those of you on the 10th or so may have a bit of a wait. Hang in there - I know we were starting to get super worried, and it's a huge relief when they do send your AOR1, but like majesty said above, it seems like time to AOR1 is four weeks or more right now. Good luck!

HI, One thing I don't understand that there is no rule to say that the mailing address should the same as living address.( guide 5289) it could be anything the applicant think suitable for the correspondents, so the request must be unreasonable.

Sent my app on Feb 20 and received on 23rd.

wish you all the best for further procedure

Spent my lunch break cleaning up the spreadsheet which has got into an awful state.
Can we lock write permissions and have Admin only edit it? i.e. submit the data on users behalf?

We are in March now which should mean less new entries and more stability.

Application received on February 6, we just received AOR1 today and was able to immediately link the application!

They received my application back on the 26th of January and I just got it back yesterday with the same exact reason...

Why they don't put that on the guide is beyond me... or makes any sense at all

In generic application form, I gave sponsor's mailing address and principal applicant is currently working in Maldives. However, in residential address I mentioned his Indian residential address (Country of citizenship). Now when I re-submitted, I kept both addresses of Maldives.

I'm the sponsor and I'm filling out the forms for my wife who's currently located in China. You think I'll be able to get away using my mailing address instead of her's by just filling out the use of representative form or will they return it back again?

The Gen App form is for the PA. If you don't want delays and you want everything to be submitted in the most effective way, follow the process correctly. If you try and get away with anything, you're risking your application processing time.

I am not sure if you can be representative. So better to fill in PA's address.

Q

Hi All,

I have submitted my spousal sponsorship application for my wife (Feb 14, 2017) also have updated the spreadsheet.

Can anyone please tell me from experience, if one is Quebec resident do they have to submit CSQ by default ? Like in my case I am a Canadian citizen and a Quebec resident but currently I am living with my wife outside Canada and am planning on not returning to Quebec but to Ontario. I have provided connections in Ontario + Job offers in my profession in GTA area. Is this enough ?

Would appreciate your input.

I think someone else said that you can also call this number:

1-613-944-4000.

I think the average wait time for them to open your file now has increased due to higher volume of applications now.

My app was received Jan 25 and the didn't open my file until Feb 22 (AOR came Feb 23), so it was 4 weeks I had to wait. I think someone else said average time to get AOR1 now is 4 to 6 weeks now. If you are lucky, you might get it earlier as is the case for a few people.

But don't be surprised if it's later rather than sooner now.

I also suspect average wait time for SA will increase now also.

But it really depends which IO is processing your app.

Sending out good vibes to all those who are waiting still!

Thanks for the information. Was worried about it until I saw this post. Hopefully I get an AOR by the end of this week (Today marks 4 weeks for me). If not I will give them a call next week.

Wish you good luck on your application as well :)
