Hi,

Linked application to my wife's account yesterday. Received AOR1 on Feb 25 and application was received in Mississauga on Feb 3.

Question is: can my wife (PA) upload schedule A and Police check now? Or does she do this once Im Sponsor Approved?

Thanks,

Once you linked your application to an online account, you can see the status if any documents are needed from your end.
If the status is "Requested", you probably have to submit the documents. Atleast I did this.

Is anyone aware about further process ?

Thanks rockycool.

US police certificate takes about 12 to 14 weeks (I'm not a US citizen or PR so unable to use channeler service). I applied for it in mid December 2016 and still waiting for it. I'm worried that it will not be ready when I receive my AOR1. Is it possible to request more time to upload documents?

I guess for me CIC has provided enough time of more than 30 days.
Not sure if this date can be stretched ahead.

Good to know that they provide 30+ days to upload documents. Hopefully I'll receive my US police certificate before the deadline.

Still waiting, my application arrived on the 10th :(
Also unable to link at the moment.

RPWallace and Yoge...you might probably get an email by this week or the next i guess...
Regarding linking your application, i think you should wait till you receive any email notification by next week atleast since your data might not be updated in the system.

Once you receive the notification from CIC, you can link the application which is little tricky part and I have discussed it in my previous post in this thread.

Good luck...

My application has been delivered on the same day Feb 9 and I am still waiting to receive AOR1. Timeline varies from case to case, I noticed for some cases they even received their SA in 3 weeks but some cases like us we haven't even got out AOR1 and it's almost going to be 3 weeks still no email from CIC. I am eagerly waiting for AOR1, checking my email everyday and also I am trying to link my application but no luck.

Let's wait and see!

I'm right alongside you, POP. Our app was received on Feb. 8th and still no word or packaged returned. Getting anxious but nothing else you can do but sit tight and keep trying to link. We will get there eventually!

Hi,

I don't think you can upload anything until they request it. When you get a request for documents, there should be an option (blue button) to enable you to do it. I am kind of kicking myself for not including in the app upfront my spouse's Police Information Check letter from Canada (as he spent 1 year here) because I thought that he would be requested to fill out a Schedule A Background/Declaration anyways and so we would upload this at the same time. However, I am reading now that they are requesting fingerprints to submit to the RCMP in order to get the Criminal Record Check. It just seems to be another lengthy process and more hassle as my spouse is outside of N. America now. If I had submitted the letter I had from the Police Service, maybe he wouldn't have to go through this!

Anyways, so far I have not received a request to upload Schedule A nor a request for my spouse (PA) to submit fingerprints. So I can't do anything at this point as I checked to see if there was any option to upload our Police Info Check letter and I can't see any place in the I can do this in the Application/Profile details summary.

I linked our account on Feb 22 (6 days ago) and it says Background Check is In Progress and there are no comments whatsoever in the Review of Documents section. There has been no change in status in any of the other categories either. I guess once again, I am in limbo and have to wait until they give further instruction.

It seems to me that some people get a request to upload Schedule A and Police clearances right away. However, for me, I will chalk it up to having a very slow and unresponsive IO who is processing our application and testing my patience. >:( I think the request comes close to the time they grant SA, as the VO that processes your wife's (PA's) eligibility for PR is the one that will scrutinize the criminal record/background information.

I hope you hear something about submitting your docs and get onto the next step!

There's no real reason to wait to attempt linking. Someone posted yesterday they were able to link prior to receiving AOR1, so it's still possible. The biggest difference is that trying to link with the method used prior to having the application number (Family name) is a bit more frustrating. But the bonus of being able to link and see that your application isn't lost in the ether is worth the frustration, at least in my mind.

Any one had issue with LINKING the APPLICATION to myCIC ?

I received mail from CIC asking to link the Application within 7 Days. I tried right a way but it errored saying "Do not find Match"
I tried after 24hrs as well but it gives the same error.

This is frustrating because they gave 7 days to link and if we try for 5 times, it locks the account for 24hrs. If we failed to link, the processing will be delayed. WTF.

Can anyone help on this please?

If you read previous posts in this forum, people provide different strategies they have used to link their apps. Lots of good tips!
