Don't worry too much about their dates, they are another class of sponsorship from us.
Note the category, ;D at first I was like :o

Hey all, I have received an email from CIC to link the paper application but I am unable to link it.

I entered the exact details as in the form and searched my application but the system displayed that no record has been found for the provided details.

I have even mentioned the exact case and details. In my application I have entered email and name in Capital/ Block letters and so while linking the application.

Is data we mention during linking case sensitive ?

Hi everyone,

For those of you waiting to receive news about receipt of your application, I just wanted to let you know that it took exactly 4 weeks for me to be able to link my application to MyCIC account i.e. they only just opened my file after a month. I have been trying to link my application everyday for almost 2 weeks now and was just able to do it this morning (application was received Jan. 25). However, I have not received an actual email or letter acknowledging AOR1.

If it seems to be taking unusually long (longer than 3 weeks) to get any kind of news about receipt of your application, don't despair. I guess it can really take up to 4 weeks for them to actually even open your file, nevermind about even looking at the contents.

I hope all of you get your AOR1 or can link before the one month mark. I have been losing my mind imagining the worse for 2 weeks now!

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear something!

I am facing the same issue while linking the application.
Can you mention the steps you followed to link the application ?

Hi,

Here's what I did:

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (choose common-law, married or conjugal, whatever applies to you)
3 I selected Family Name, Given Name, Birthday (This is Principal Applicant's (PA) info).
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once or return key until it turns black not red)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - I entered in the dates for passport info but not the passport # (some people didn't enter the info at all, but I couldn't seem to skip the part about the dates)
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my common-law partner with not dependent(s).

Hi All,

Can someone please confirm if the email for linking the paper file is sent to the Sponsor or the Principal applicant?

Thanks.

In my case, it is sent to the Principal applicant. It took me around 3 weeks to receive this email to link the application.

Not working for me. Any clues or ideas ?
Did you enter only space in City of Birth and not the actual city name ?
Did the family name you entered were in Pascal case or they where in Bold/Captial letters ? I have entered my name in Capital letters in the application. But entering capital during linking is not working for me.

I was also frustrated during the first few times I tried linking my account. But when I noticed how CIC addresses me (my full name), I followed that and I was finally able to linked my App :-)

Hey all,

I was able to link my application. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I guess the problem is with the "City of Birth". I did not enter any city of Birth instead provided only a space in the field as mentioned in the previous posts.
One more thing I did was entered the number of applicants as 2 even though it must be 1.

So my best guess is that either "City of fields" or "Number of applicants" field might be causing this issue due to which many people are still struggling to link their application.

Hope this helps a few like me :)

Happy you got it to work! I don't know why they can't just fix these gliches in their system. You can waste so much time trying so many different ways to enter the info. As if all of us here aren't experiencing enough anguish going through the whole sponsorship process. :'(

When i view my application, I can see the request to upload the Police certificates and the Schedule A form.

Schedule A - Background verification form must be in pdf format. Must be validated first and then saved. Then uploaded in Pdf format only.
Police certificate must be scanned and uploaded.
Am i correct ?

What about the signature in Schedule A form ? Should it be digital signature or mentioning my name would be fine ?
The names of my office and colleges are big and might not fit in the pdf form provided. Can I apply additional word documents mentioning full name of the organisation ?
