I mailed my application on Monday the 13th of February and I recieved a txt msg from DHL on Thursday the 16th confirming that my application has been dropped off. So I guess I now have to wait for the process confirmation. My application was 130 pages long.

Just called IRCC call centre and I'm still in limbo. The agent I talked to told me that one month (Jan 25 app was received) is not a long time to be waiting to hear acknowledgement of receipt. He said sometimes it can take two or three months for outland sponsorship depending on the case (that I have not heard before). I was racking my brain to figure out what else I could ask him to check on my status. Finally I got him to look up my receipt number and he said they do have a record of that, so at least I know the application is not lost in their office. However, he said that is all he could see, so that means they have not opened and checked my app still.

The only other thing I can think of that might be stalling the process is that I am divorced and I have a dependent child. However, I included all the documents they asked for (as it took us 4 plus months to complete the app since we decided to switch to the new forms in December) and an immigration consultant also reviewed our application before submitting.

So I will chalk it up to having bad luck. They must have picked the slowest processing pile to put my app in just like when you pick the slowest checkout lane at the grocery store.

Will post when I hear something (hope it's not going to be 2 months or more like this agent said!)

Anyone who has been waiting for their AOR1, hang in there! Hope you all have better luck than me!

did they tell you what applications they are working on now? 2 weeks ago it was january 25.

I told him I had read on the CANADAVISA.com discussion forum that they were processing Jan 25 applicants early last week. That is when he gave me the spiel about it depending on the individual case. He was very vague and only said that there is a lot of information people hear about but he could only say that every application is different. I wasn't getting anywhere with this particular agent.

Maybe if you get a different agent, he/she will be more helpful.

Please post updates as I am living off the hope of others here now!

As a reference it took me 32 days to recieve AOR. My app reached Missisauga Jan 10th, got AOR Feb 11th.

They are working on January 30. Try calling again. I received the unfortunate news that my application was returned due to lack of a "Separation" document for my common law spouse which I am sure is there (a notarized declaration of how long he has been separate from his former spouse). I think I'll go to the MP to make sure my application is put back where it belongs in queue as I am sure they are wrong. I look forward to receiving it back this week. They better be sure all my documents are there in order.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you are able to resolve your problem with your MP and that you can go back into the queue. I worry that a delay they also found something wrong with our status.

According to Xpresspost my package was delivered on 7th Feb but as of now I haven't heard a word from from CIC.
Growing increasingly anxious... but aren't we all.

There's a bunch of INLAND threads in this forum, I would try scrolling around there as much as possible... And some of them timeline their application dates under their username.

Similar situation here, Canadian PR. Applied through the new process. From what I see from the trend by other posters in the last few months, most seem to receive their AOR 20-40 days after delivery...

i hope yours is not the same. a lawyer triple checked my application before i sent it out which is why i am sure it is complete. i have heard that this happened to other people before, i guess what pisses me off is the fact that i spent $45 to overnight that application and will need to do so again.

I called the IRCC call centre again and talked to a different agent. She told me that my receipt for the application fee has not even been entered into the system, so there is nothing they can check for me at this point. I really don't know where my application is at right now.

It's not a nice situation to be in when you can see everyone else here who got their applications received after me getting acknowledgements and being able to link their applications etc. And all the agents can tell me is to wait (the first guy I talked to said it can take more than a month sometimes, without offering any explanation why that would be the case).

We took our file to an immigration consultant to have her review and give feedback about what things we were missing and what we needed to provide more evidence of before we sent off the completed application. She charged us over $500 and $100 for two 20 minute consultations to discuss questions we had. We decided not to have her do the application for us as she wanted over $3000 for that.

I went over the forms about 5 times to make sure we had everything. Now my imagination is running wild thinking they don't like my divorce certificate or maybe they have a problem with our evidence of when we were living together for 1 year (even though the immigration consultant didn't make any comments about that part of our application). Anyways, I can't do anything at this point, other than to wait. I need to stop obsessing over this as it's distracting me from doing my work and coursework.

Really hope I hear something soon, even if they end up sending back our application. It's worse not knowing anything, good or bad, than to have to wait and wonder what could be happening over in Mississauga.
