Hi everyone I asked MP for help and the next day they phoned me back saying that my husband has passed everything (medical and background check just waiting for a decision now. He said since the processing time is 13 months sometimes its quick or it could take months. Is PPR next? Im really hoping by December he'll be here but dont want to keep my hopes up. :)

hi any feb applicant from svo recieve any interview here ?

Hi Guys, i have a question i'm hoping someone will be able to help me with:

We applied outland back in Feb 2016 via Lima, Peru
Our application has been in Lima since the first week of April
When we applied, processing times were 10 months.

Now, we had our MP call and get some information for us about a month ago, which is when we were informed that processing times had gone up to 13 months. Our MP also said we should try for a TRV if my husband wants to spend the holidays with me and my family in canada.
Today we received our notes and the following was noted about the MP's interaction with them:

"Received a request for case specific information via MP line. Spoke to Debbie from the office of XXX.
Gave case status, docs rec'd 04/12, delays currently 13m. Suggested TRV if client wishes to visit
Canada for Xmas, sent info client about dual intent."

Whats off tho, is that it shows "Office: Montreal Call Centre" and not Visa Office Lima, Peru
So i'm not sure how much the Montreal Office really knows about our specific case. Maybe they just give out general information, not case specific?

Our worry, and the reason why we haven't applied for a TRV yet is, that my husband overstayed his work Visa in the states. He overstayed by a few years but after we met and started dating, he left the states. He had applied for a student Visa for Canada before leaving the states but was refused. Now he is back home in Peru waiting out this process.
Our fear is that the TRV will be refused simply because he overstayed in the states PLUS the student Visa refusal - chances are pretty low we assume. But now with the Notes saying that the Montreal call centre suggested applying for a TRV we dont know if that advise even applies to us - considering our history.

Any advise is greatly appreciated :-X

[time is closer than you think. It could be interview or PPR. My processing time is 13 months. File completed in 9 months]

Cannot throw much light on TRV but we had Montreal too on all the Case specifics we did. I wonder if this is something in general.

GMCS notes came yesterday after ordering it one month ago. I saw the words, RFV Ready.

RFV stands for Ready for Visa. Hopefully we will get the email asking for passport soon.

Congrats!

I had CRIMINALITY PASSED on 10/17/2016 but SECURITY NOT STARTED. Do you mind to share how long (days) after did your SECURITY get PASSED after CRIMINALITY PASSED? Thanks!

my wife's criminality also passed in Oct. for security, there is no date there, just said Action: updated, and Old Value: not started. i guess it is a case by case thing, and she has not been abroad, so she might not need to check security.

Do you see different values under these two? Do you see RFV in your notes?

My criminality and security show same values as yours. My spouse is passport exempt so no RFV. How about your MYCIC? Does it show decision made? My spouse's MYCIC is not showing decision made yet.

I'm alright. Just extremely frustrated with this process... no news and no gcms notes. Currently in Indonesia until January with my wife.

PLZ can you tell me at this stage what your CIC account says about "Review of eligibility"
thanks

landed last Nov 22 :) Thank you for all the help. To God be the Glory :)

Hi All,
I wonder if you have any clue about this... We got our second set of GCMS NOTES, right at the top under APPLICATION section a little bit down between Correspond Language and Group# there is this section SPECIAL PROGRAM...
In our first set of notes there was nothing mentioned next to it but the notes which we got like day before yesterday in those it was written SPECIALPROGRAM(s): OSI
Any idea what this SPECIAL PROGRAM stands for.. from what I can interpret this whole Applicatoin section at the top does not contain any decision related infromation so i am assuming whatever this it should not be alarming..
But if anybody could tell me what it is, because i did a lot of search and no luck.. by the way 3 months and counitng DM but notning so far...we did case specific too..

When I saw your post I was curious what OSI means, so I spent a long time searching. Found lots of Immigration documents which spell out many different acronyms but not OSI.
Is your file in Ottawa? There was a special effort started in July to catch up on the backlog, and some files were chosen to go to Ottawa for processing instead of overseas. As far as I know it was the easier files which had fast results which Ottawa was processing. So I'm really just grasping at straws when I'm thinking Ottawa Special Initiative.
It could be anything, and their coding doesn't mean that each letter corresponds to a word. So I really don't know, couldn't find it anywhere.

Qns for those who landed already or those who know..

1. Do we need to declare what we have in our bank account?
2. Will we get tax later if we transfer money from lets say SG Bank to CAD bank?
3. how did you bring/transfer money to canada?
4. Any tips on how to do the list of stuff to declare sa CAD customs..

Appreciate you inputs! thank you
