Yes, it is a painful process. More so when you end up in the interview queue.


Good news though, a late February applicant just received DM and PPR from Singapore. So there is hope for those waiting for news!! Hang on a little bit longer!

I have a question - if background checks show in progress in MYCIC, does it matter? If you could check my question a little bit above(2nd entry from the top), we got DM in ECAS last Friday but no line was added. I don't know what to make of this. background check has been in progress for some 20 days... Thanks for your response.

Please clarify, the DM shows in ECAS both for PR and Sponsor?
Here's my thoughts on your issue:

>If for SPONSOR everyone who received the SA will be DM,this is NORMAL
>If for the PR side, in Manila VO the DM happens once the visa sticker printed in passport and has been dispatched to the sponsored person.
>Some PR applicants, in april 2016 received Elligibility passed and Background shows In progress but no passport request yet.
>There was once a PR applicant in December 2016, no update in myCIC but that individual received a call from Manila VO, and later that day that person received email

But on your end, maybe it's a different scenario.

Thanks buddy...Ours is Ankara VO. and yes the it shows DM for both and that too when I log as sponsor and as sponsored. As I said i do not see any changes inside extra line etcs.. I appericiate you sharing your thoughts. At this point one can only guess or try to base one's case on others' examples... The only motivation i have is that ppl were in same scenario and got PPR in 1day to 45 days...

Thank you - I know tensions and frustrations are high on this forum and i totally agree that it's *censored word* that people that are not visa exempt have a less fortunate situation to those who are... i'm never trying to rub salt in wounds or anything of the sort.. my heart is with all families battling through immigration crap.. i tell people all the time who don't and won't deal with immigration that it's by far the most stressful thing to deal with outside of a health scare of some sort.. fair to say I've lost a few years of my life due to immigration mix ups in the past 3 years..

I have my landing papers and can use them only at land borders via my own vehicle.. i can't bus, fly, or leave by sea out of vancouver until I get my PR card... I would need to drive down to Seattle and fly out of Seattle, hence why i was hoping to get my PR card soon..

Hi there, I was wondering if you finally got your PR card and how long it ended up taking? I also need to travel home (to Aus) but hands are tied without that card. If only we could drive there

My updates are - we submitted the requested docs on 25th July and then on 22nd Aug i created the MY CIC acc and both relationship check and background checks were in progress. then on 29th Aug i got an email an update has been made please log in to see. Then i logged in there was nothing.. and finally on 9th sept i got DM on both PR N SA side but no extra line added... and since then i m waiting..

Congrats, there's some progress going on your file. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I am going through LVO as well sponsoring my wife from Pakistan. Case went in process on March 24, 2016. Are you sponsoring your wife from Pakistan as well?

Hi! If you mean the "Review of eligibility", it's been in progress for a while (I don't know the exact date, it was already "in progress" when I linked my account to MyCIC).

Hopefully you should receive some good news soon! It hasn't been two weeks yet since you got DM, so if all goes well you should have some news in the upcoming weeks.
