i know someone from Phils who had no issue extending their visa and waiting for pr approval in canada. there are many many many applicants who successfully do this.

I am frm Phils too and I'm here in Toronto also with visitor permit. Same situation like INta Hayati.

Since we're on the subject... I submitted my visitor extension application on Feb 2 and am still waiting for an answer. The funny part is, CIC sent me an email a couple weeks back "updating" me that my application had no new updates. THANKS, CIC, I had nooo idea

I'm pretty nervous about it, as I accidentally overstayed the visa by one day. I hope that doesn't count against me. I submitted a statutory declaration of common-law union and provided a letter explaining I submitted my PR app. So fingers crossed for approval. I don't even want to think about it getting rejected; I have virtually no life back in the States to return to.

So IMM 0008 was updated in February 2015.

I sent my application on 26Feb2015, delivered on 27Feb2015.

I checked on 25Feb2015, form wasnt updated.

When was the form actually updated? Anyone in the same situation?

My visitor permit expires on September, is there a chance that I can extend it? My consultant told me there's no assurance I can extend it or else I've to go back to Phils and wait for my PR there

am in same situation like you, dont know if they accept old imm od they goign to send back full app, and we need to send again with new imm 0008

Aye its 50/50 they send you a email asking for updated form. I hear there is virtually no difference between the updated form from the older form either. Maybe different font? I managed to catch it in time myself and mine went out March 3. If they aren't accepting older form there is gonna be a lot of files kept to the side sending out emails for updated forms.

I haven't heard anything yet and the CIC website can't find my details in the "check status" area. I'm hoping that they start processing my form soon!

Does anyone know how long it takes for a response? Anyone had any response yet? I've been told that London Visa Office processing times are actually a bit quicker than stated on the website - around 8 months - so I'm hoping I get some good news in October!

I haven't heard anything yet and the CIC website can't find my details in the "check status" area. I'm hoping that they start processing my form soon!

it's currently taking 65ish days for the first stage to be complete. you will not hear anything until they start processing the sponsor's file in 65ish days. More than likely, you will not be able to sign into the ECAS system until AFTER sponsor approval (SA) has been given. Receipt numbers do not work to sign in, only UCI and file numbers do, which most people don't get until sponsor approval.

I have a simple question: the time indicated by cic website is for both, AoR and sa or just for AoR?
And how long, usually it takes between AoR and sa?
One more thing: since I'm going throught Quebec, I'll receive a sa or just AoR and the letter requesting for csq?
I'm a little confused.

Hi Everyone! Our application was received in Mississauga on February 23rd but we realized after we sent it that our IM008 is outdated and the one we submitted was somehow the June 2014 version. So I have a strong feeling that the package will be returned and we will have to resubmit, since technically it has now been updated twice since then :-[ I compared the two forms and the only difference seems to be that they removed one question asking about a preferred visa office, but I don't think that will matter to CIC. So now all we can do is wait!

CIC can only ask the updated form.
You never know.
