I'm sorry to bother you guys.. This is the sponsor checklist (IMM5491):

As you can see, it says to add all forms of the sponsored person and other additional documents, like ORIGINAL police certificates..
I thought the criminal records have to be added only in the sponsored person package! I can't spend other $175 to have their original certified translation!!

Can anyone help me to figure out what's going on?

It's written "sponsored person".

i think it's important to remember that although the website says a certain date is being processed, that certainly doesn't mean ALL applications received BEFORE that date are finished processing. The applications are batched, and handed out accordingly. reasons why some applications are processed quicker than others:
1) the length of time it takes CIC to confirm background checks on sponsors (obviously it's easier to get information on a sponsor that has only lived/worked in canada and/or 1 province than someone who has lived/worked abroad or in multiple provinces)
1b) the length of time it takes CIC to receive information back from other agencies about the sponsor (ie: welfare checks, overseas residency, etc)
2) the work habits of each officer - there are more than 1 officers handling files. just like all human beings, some officers work quicker than others.
3) certainly, if the officer is waiting on information for file a, it is hard to believe they will wait to complete that file before moving on to files b, c, and d.

it is not personal, it is just how it works. think about when you are at work. do you finish your assignments in exactly the same amount of time as all of your co-workers? do you have the same abilities as them? if you're waiting on something do you just sit and wait for that information before starting your next task/project? probably not. CIC is no exception. these are human beings doing a job. it's important to remember it's not as cut and dry you think it is just because you sent them all the information in a package. they have protocols to follow, information to input, requests to wait on, etc. since each application is unique, not everyone is going to experience the same thing.

You are right, but like my application was recieved on feb 14, 2015. One guy application was recieved on Feb 26, 2015. He got AOR on Feb 28, 2015. I am talkin about opening the application package before everybody's else. Shouldn't it be according to dates. Older ones first and then newer ones?

You have to submit the police clearance only for the applicant (sponsored person). All documents which are not in English or French will have to be translated.

i made an observation in the spreadsheet. the two persons who have gotten responses from CIC both sent their apps to Mississauga and their spouses' country is Beirut. so i am guessing that they go based on the CIC office which has to look at the sponsored person's application. i think they go in alphabetic order of the sponsored person's corresponding visa office.

That is unfair, weird thing is on their website; they state they are working on application from December 2. It just doesn't make sense!

the thing is, you all are trying to figure out CIC and "why" they do what they do. the fact is, doing that will result in nothing but frustration and anger. stop doing it. accept the fact you will never figure out "why" cic does anything. you have no control over anything at this point. the majority of this process is done in the dark and silence. let go of the need to be in control and accept it. the sooner you do, the "easier" the wait will be.

There's also speculation that Lebanon and Syria are moving faster because of unrest in the area. Which makes sense, at least to me.

With the form that changed in Feb will they still process it ? Or will they send it back since my application was sent in last month..I hope not.. I even checked before I sent it and they were all up to date it must of changed recently

hi everyone
delivered my app on 10th feb
waiting for next step with all u guys

also now im worried about one thing

i have sent an original Notice of assessement instead of option c printout of NoA.

is it ok or not :'(

Hey, guys! I got a notification that the application has been delivered to Mississauga. Is there a way to check the status of the application yet? Like somewhere on the site that will say "Application Received." I know it will take a few months for my husband to become approved as a sponsor and then a few months after that for me to be approved as a PR, but I just want confirmation that they have my application. Is it possible?

You can't, because you don't have a application or UCI number. I want to check the status too, but can't

Hi everyone! my application was received by CIC Mississauga on Feb 26th. Today is Feb 28th and I just received an email with a file number for the application. Did anyone else get this? Is this the so called AOR?

And today I received SA. As someone mentioned here, they seem to be expediting the process for Beirut applications.
