Were you able to access ecas using your receipt number?

Try with both you and your wife's information for the receipt.

Also, make sure you aren't doing a me and putting in Canada as your birth country when you were born somewhere else (I was born in the US to a Canadian father and US mother)

I've tried both our info using receipt # and the file # from cic call center and still nothing. Sigh

I have tried to call the only phone number I can find on the CIC website, which is the Call Centre number 1-888-242‑2100, but whenever I call, I get a message saying that the "call cannot be completed as dialled, please hang up and try again".

I also tried calling Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, on 1-613-944-4000, which is something someone advised on this forum, and I followed loads of options and eventually the automated machine just told me they were experiencing high call volumes and then hung up.

I'm starting to freak now! Does anyone know how to call these people?! Do I have the right number?

It's been a few years since I called from the UK to Canada, but I believe if you dial 00-1-881-242-2100, you might have more luck. Another possibility is 00-888-242-2100, depending on how the number is set-up. If neither works, try Skype.

Also, try calling near the ends of the day (exactly at noon BST or 8pm-9pm). Finally, just keep calling until you get through.

In my case I had to change the country of birth. Spouse was born in Wales, but they have him listed as born in England. Maybe try fiddling with that?

I applied same day as you and got AOR the same day as you. I got my email today about SA (although on ecas last week). Hope you here soon.

Congrats. I hope I get AOR soon esp as we pretty much sent our apps around the same time.

We called them Monday and had the agent flag our app as past processing time. He did and next day, we got our AoR. Maybe you can try doing the same. Hoping for SA soon. It's taking forever...
