I got that same status update that Buffy did, however they finished reviewing my file on September 9th!

This is great news!

PS - in terms of the spreadsheet - i guess that means I got it Sept. 9th
Whooooop!

Once I get the letter, it's time to start the OHIP process.
WOOHOO!! CONGRATS. :)

Hi Guys!

Has anyone had them askfor additional documents? Once you sent it to them how long does it take for them to get back you?.... They got our additional docs on August 9....

Hello all!

We are still waiting to receive our COPR in the mail - we got approved around 19th August. - it's been around 2 weeks already. ::) How long does it normally take? - Is there a number/email to get in touch with them if so long? - any help, appreciated as always!

Hey, new to the forum.

Stats are as follows:

I'm a US citizen immigrating via sponsorship of my wife.

Outland Family class application

Medical done on February 5, 2013

Application received February 25, 2013

Sponsorship approved March 25, 2013

I received an email from Ottawa on September 3, 2013, that stated that they have now completed the initial assessment of my application, and expect to finalize the application without a personal interview. They requested additional passport photos and a scanned copy of my passport. A second email followed, stating that they did not need additional photos afterall. Although I sent a copy of my passport with the application originally, I went ahead and emailed it again as requested. My online status is still "Application received", but I have been told this is pretty typical. Thats pretty much where it stands as of today, Sept 18.

CONGRATS!! I am also with Ottawa and my passport request was made August 28th. My ecas changed this past weekend to decision made. It said DM was September 13. It was exactly 2 weeks from the time I emailed them my scanned passport until I got the DM so you should hopefully get DM within the next week. Good luck!!

Thanks. My ecas hasn't changed yet, but I will keep a look out. Seems that status changes and notifications tend to be different for everyone so you never know what to expect or when. I'm just glad I wasn't one of the ones who have to go through the Vienna office.

Quick question. I have been visiting my wife in Canada for a few months and plan on returning to the US in October. If my Landing paperwork happens to arrive at my US address before then though, would it be better for me to fly home, pick it up and come back, or can I just have someone mail/overnight it to me here in Canada and then just cross the border and cross back?

It's all a matter of what works best for you. If you get it early enough it might save you a lot of money to have someone overnight it. Even if it costs $50-$60 that is much cheaper than a plane ticket. I am having mine sent here to Canada if it gets to my attorney by the beginning of October. If not, I will have him mail to the USA and when I go home over Thanksgiving I will pick them up and use them to land on the way back through. GOod luck with whatever you decide!!
