Hi. I am happy you are about the end of the preparation!
listen I had the same issue with the dates of my citizenship and Landing in Canada more than 30 years ago, but people told me here to put an approximate date. They at CIC will have all the info for you. But if you can afford to wait until you find the dates please do so!

May you have good luck

Hi...My husband got already the date of his permanent residency...Thanks to your advice...

I have another question please help me because my friend told me if i have to worlk in Canada I need to have my school credentials and other legal documents to be red ribboned by the DFA?Do I need to do that with all our documents?May i know if all of you have done that also...

Thank you so much...

Volunteering is sometimes OK actually... it depends on what you do. If you're volunteering every day, in the same place, in a place where they would hire somebody if you were not volunteering, then it's NOT ok, as it's a disguise for work - and CIC might suspect that you are getting paid on the side. CIC will also consider that you're taking work away from people that are legally entitled to work.
however, if you volunteer once a week, for example, in a place where it's obviously not considered work, then it's OK on a visitor visa.
Sweden
Thanks Sweden, good information to know. I would not volunteer every day at the same place but it would be good to get my name out and about in the community. My line of work it would be an excellent way to meet some connections and find leads on jobs for the future. :)

Dear Julyashar,

Do not worry.
You can email NDVO and be specific in subject.
You can ask them to confirm if they had sent you any communication regarding passport request.
Also mention if you are not too sure about the email and send them the email address to update on your file.

If your email has all other details what they expect , they will probably get back to you.

I can think of yet another Idea.
Can your spouse in Canada call CIC call centre and check the emails on file?
Just see if that is possible. then you can at least make sure you have right communication points in place..

Hi all,

I am happy to announce my wife got her PPR from New Delhi VO today (04-18-2013). Seems like things are going smoothly, 1 month for SA in Canada and 23 days for PPR. For all those waiting for PPR from New Delhi VO, hang in there as tommorow is a public holiday.

Wont be long now, exciting times ahead :)
Please update me in the file.

We got our SA on March 18th, and still waiting to hear from New Delhi. It seems that people are getting the PPR from them quickly, am feeling a little worried about it now.

Hey members,

Really happy on my wife's AOR passport request today Apr-18.

One question.
We had submitted only 12 picts all together for marriage ,reception and honeymoon at the time of initial application. Also we didnt write anything behind the picture at the time of initial application.
After reading forums , I realized its better to send more picts as it may add values to the file.

Is it a good idea to add more pictures when sending the passport via courier to NDVO?
Should i say in the cover letter any reason for adding more picts?

Appreciate your response.

Congrats on the PPR. I'm a little worried now. I got the SA March 18th and file was transferred that same day, yet my husband has not had any news from the embassy yet. How did your wife get contacted? Phone, email, mail?

Thanks

I think I adviced you on this on the Manila thread.
Anyway, for the Sponsorship application, you don't need to include school credentials.
The red ribbon by DFA is only for Federal Skilled Worker applicants because the embassy wanted to make sure that the credential that they submit to work in Canada are legitimate.

However, it would be beneficial if you could bring your official transcripts and certification when you land in Canada so you can bring them when you want to get assessment on how you can upgrade your profession in Canada.
I believe you said you we're a teacher in the Philippines? I'm sorry to say but it is not easy to get a teaching job in Canada without going back to school here or at least upgrading by getting some education credits and having a Canadian experience.

Again, you don't have to include your credentials in you spousal application but would be helpful if you bring them when you land as a PR in Canada.

All the best!

God I hope so. This whole process makes me so paranoid about every little thing. It is weird don't you think that everyone got their PPR in feb 2013 except us.

Anyone else have any insight?

It's a random and inconsistent system, and there are always a few people whose applications take longer, and it's not always clear why.
