Ugh, help me out here please!! I know I read someone else had same results in one of these threadss but I can't find it. I received an ecas tracker update (yes it actually worked!! saying this :

We received your application to sponsor XXXXXXXXXXXXX on February 21, 2013.


We sent you a letter on March 15, 2013 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We have not gotten an email yet (and yes, checked spam filter) but in ecas it shows decision made but no email telling us what the decision was!! My wife is with me here in the US until next Sunday so IF they send it via regular mail she may not get the decision until next week.

Does this mean good news or bad news if it comes regular mail instead of email? Our AOR came via email. Ugh someone PLEASE help, my nerves are completely on edge.

That is a good news!
I would say that the ECAS tracker found out that you are already approved as a sponsor. Check back in your ECAS in another couple of days, it might show those updates as well.

Thanks Iay!! So that means they approved my wife as a sponsor? Why no email then?? I assumed we would get the letter via email!! If this is true we got our approval in 22 days

CONGRATS SKAS!!!!! Did it come via email? And when did it say decision was made? I'm still paranoid that it says ours is coming via mail and it was sent on Friday the 15th. Ugh!!!!

Sometimes they just come by mail. People put email addresses and get correspondence a number of different ways so I wouldn't worry most likely means SA.

It did come via email, it says I have been approved and the file has been transferred.

Thanks Gary, I hope you are right. It's so hard to wait!!

most likely it is an approval - they would not deny you upfront, if they had doubts about something they would have asked... very few people get denied in stage 1, and if they do, it's for "obvious reasons" - trying to sponsor the 'wrong person" (don't qualify as spouse etc). SO if you're married, and they haven't asked for more information, then it's an approval. It's hard to wait for the mail, but consider it done!

I've read that it varies, and sometimes it's via email, and sometimes it's via snail mail.
It won't say whether you've been approved or not by ecas. all it will say is "decision made", and the letter your wife receives will say whether she's been approved or not. I would wait until the letter is received (sorry, not to put you on edge).


In other news - does anybody know if New York sends out an AOR? it's been over 2 weeks since i got my SA, but haven't heard anything since.
