A little update on my state of affairs.

Obviously it's a long way off until I hear about anything relating to sponsor approval.........


But I did get a (very much expected) letter from the London visa office requesting additional medical tests/reports. It is dated 9 March and I have 90 days from the date of the letter to comply, so basically in the real world I only have 66 days (took them three weeks to actually mail the letter...) and I have quite a few hoops to jump through. I'm not feeling too positive about it.

They also managed to send the letter to the wrong address but fortunately it got here. Pretty unsettling that they can get something so basic wrong. If I had never got that letter, I would never have known about the additional medical requirements, and presumably my app would be abandoned after those 90 days. Thank god it got here.

So I have a bit of moolah to lay out to get the situation under control and hopefully this isn't going to delay my application. I'm guessing in the meantime the app will be working it's way through Mississauga (ahahahahaha. ahem.)

At least it's progress? Just not exactly the kind of progress I wanted.

How did London know about your app if you haven't gotten sponsor approval yet?

The medicals don't go to Mississauga, seemingly they just go to the visa office, so the application and the medical are in theory being processed simultaneously (although in reality I'm sure my app hasn't even been opened in Mississauga yet). So London have my medical info now and that gets married up with the rest of the app later when the app is transferred from Mississauga (hence you include that one piece of paper from the DMP in your application, I can only assume that is what they use to match them?)

I guess as far as the medical processing goes, they must not contact you unless they have a reason to? No news = good news? I heard of another case of someone getting a request for more medical info well before the sponsor approval was completed so it sounds like that's quite normal, it's just that most people wouldn't hear anything regarding their medical because their medicals are likely normal? Who knows....

Yeah, I have something wrong with me which the DMP thinks is probably not serious or harmful in my case, but unfortunately it also happens to be a symptom of tuberculosis - an infectious disease - which would exclude me from Canada. So basically I have to rule out TB.

Good afternoon all. Deficient: I am glad you actually heard something on your application, you are doing better then us all who haven't heard squat LOL. eskimokiss : LOL at not coming here, it is like an addiction and you can't seem to stay away......just in case.......lol

Well hoping someone hears something soon, especially someone from early February and then we would at least know they were starting into the February mail and that would ease our minds a bit!
