I m Canadian born citizen living exclusively outside Canada.I just applied to sponsor from out side Canada my common law partner and her 2 children to canada age 14 years and 15 years,we also have a 3 year old son together. We are coming to Canada this August, my partner and kids have six months visa and I would like some help regarding sending the 14 and 15 year old to school. And if with the new law in effect in june if I would be able to send them to school since the application will take around 14 months to be approved and we are coming before. We just both the house in ontario canada last February and I can start working as soon as i arrive in canada with my cousin.is there some one who can help me ? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no easy answer, as every public school seems to have their own internal rules they follow. The majority will demand that all school fees be paid out-of-pocket, which would be very expensive for 2 kids. Also they may need to apply for special study permits. I've heard of some schools allowing kids with PR apps in process to attend for free, but i'm not sure the circumstances around that.

So your best bet is to find the schools that are closest to where you will live, and just call them to ask.

Also depending on what province you're moving to, all of you may need to get private emergency travel medical insurance. You and your 3 year old Canadian son, will have health coverage as returning Canadians either right after you arrive, or after a 3 month wait (again depending on province).

My cousin called the school in guelph and asked us to send an e mail .I did sent a detailed email of our situation on the 7th may at Wellington catholic district school board but never received an answer. I will try to give them a later today . I can t afford to pay for my kids school fees . If there is someone that can help us,it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
