Thanks Raj. Happy to see any positive movement on the app.
Question : My Indian passport has exactly one year validity remaining as of today. I can now start the process for renewal here in the US if i wish. Given that there is a chance per other cases that i could get the PPR email soon, should i even bother sending it for renewal now ? I have no idea how long it takes and it seems a bit risky/unecessary given the timing.
If i do not renew it and stick with my current passport, i believe it has to be valid for at least 6 months at time of short landing, which is what I'm planning to do. (Kindly correct me if wrong). Im trying to figure out how i should time everything to sync up in the easiest way possible.
What's your advise in this case to avoid any PP validity issues down the road, but also not complicating my PR application current status/processing ?
Additional details if needed: I'm in the USA was hoping to do the short landing thing anytime this spring/summer, if i got approved. Also my meds expire in October end 2017.
Well, I am not sure if the PP validity of at least 6 months is required if you land from the US. However, if possible, I suppose you can get your PP renewed to avoid confusion in the future. If you get PPR in the meanwhile, you can submit a CSE and inform them that you are currently renewing your PP and you will submit the new PP once it is issued. You can show proof of application for renewal of PP too.
This is only my opinion.
