Hi Guys,
Today I got a document request for my wife who is a co-applicant with me.
RCMP FINGERPRINTS REQUESTED. Although we submitted the Criminal Record Check with the application.
I got 60 days to submit this document i.e. 17 March 2017
Presently my wife is outside Canada and will return on 4th March.
As I read about the procedure it is very simple. We just have to go to police services of our jurisdiction (Saskatoon) and get her fingerprints done. My question is has anyone got this type of request? and how much time it takes to get the document. Would it be late if I do that when she comes back.
Worried about the situation.

A Background Check is needed = In Progress

(not sure if it ever went to not started, as when i checked yesterday it was "not needed at this time". And today it showed - in progress. No email received for updates)
Great to hear ! Our applications seem to be following a similar timeline :)

I got the Criminal Record Check request, but not the RCMP FINGERPRINTS. Obtaining the fingerprints is fairly easy, just book an appointment with your local police station. You can ask to get a hard copy of your fingerprints on spot.

True. FSW-O applicants seem to be the priority here.

Good luck and all the very best to everyone! Wish everyone here a speedy PPR! I wish I don't see people getting leftover here (I have seen the suffering of November 2015 OINP applicants).

Thanks for the reply. But I would have to wait till my wife comes. Does it take more than a week? Would my file would be put on hold until I submit the document?

You can go to the local police website and check the next available slot for fingerprinting. Depends on how busy your police station is; but I doubt it'll be more than a week. Just curious, you must've gone thru this in order to get your RCMP Criminal Record Check, right?

A criminal record check normally does not require finger print unless some organization requests for the same. So, we did not need to give our fingerprints. I hope it is quicker otherwise it is already delayed for CEC catagory.

When you get your RCMP Criminal Record Check, for citizenship and immigration purposes you get your finger prints done as well.
anyhow, they provide you a copy of a finger prints on spot as well, this is how I got in done here in Ontario , I hope process is same in Saskatoon as well. But as carbonchemist suggested you can check the processing by visiting a local RCMP office so that you are prepared in advance and get it done right away.
