Hi guys,

I have got my express entry application refused due to incomplete police clearance. Can someone please tell me , how my police clearance should look like from the duration perspective so CIC can except it.

What i provided to CIC was two years of clearance certificate from my home country (Pakistan), and did not provide it for the duration when I turned 18 or the duration of my recent 3 years that I have been living in Canada.
What should be a police clearance look like, should it be from the date i was born till today, OR from the date i turned 18 till the day i moved to Canada, OR for the duration i was born till the time i am living in Canada.
I am confused, I wish i would have provided the correct police clearance. Now i have to wait to get entry in the pool again. And by the looks of recent two draws , it seems like having scores less than 490 will not have much chance in future.

Thanks

Please read the PCC requirements on IRCC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/pakistan.asp

PCC is required from the day you turned 18 from each country where you have stayed for more than 6 months continuous of in parts thereof amounting to a cumulative of 6 months. Except for the current country of stay for which the PCC should not be more than 6 months old at the time of application, is valid unless you return to that country again and should have been attained after the last day of stay in that country.

Hope this clears your doubt related to CIC PCC requirements.

I have lived in my home country, and in Canada for more than 6 months.

I believe there is no need to get Canadian PCC and I need PCC from my home country only, correct?

You won't need a PCC for a month's vacation in India or anywhere (generally) unless IRCC has a specific reason to ask for it while they are reviewing/accessing/investigating your application.

Sorry I guess I wasn't quite clear there. I moved from India to Canada in 2011 and came back home for a month now and so I got a PCC from the local PSK here. I read somewhere that we need to get a new PCC everytime we visit the home country. Should this be fine?

No, Not every time you visit the country. But you need a PCC from your 18 yrs of age till 2011 if you lived in India during that period.
You can get this from the Indian Embassy in Canada.

Tricky.

The trouble is IRCC can be quite finicky about PCCs. Technically, you may be refused even if you stayed back for 1 day after getting the PCC. I would recommend applying for another PCC at the Indian embassy after returning to Canada.

My current PCC was obtained last week from the local passport office. So that should cover the period I was in India until 2011 before I left to Canada. Now, my visit to my home country try is only for a month and not 6 months, so, in that case should I get another PCC after coming back to Canada to cover that period of half a month? It's very confusing and would really appreciate if anyone could help me out with this.

Avisad already answered your question and I recommend the same: get a new PCC once you come back to Canada.

Exactly what I said earlier. IRCC can be finicky, don't risk it. PCCs are valid for the entirety of your stay in a country. If you get a PCC after returning to Canada, that document will validate the entirety of your stay(s) in India, not just the last month.
