I am currently on vacation in India for a month and got my PCC from PSK this month. Should that be fine or should I get one after I go back to Canada in January???
NO. CIC will straightly reject your app if you use this PCC from india.

Once you have left india and got back to Canada, you should get a PCC of india from Canada.

Exactly what I said earlier. IRCC can be finicky, don't risk it. PCCs are valid for the entirety of your stay in a country. If you get a PCC after returning to Canada, that document will validate the entirety of your stay(s) in India, not just the last month.

But there is this confusion that still remains because it's not clarified enough on CIC website (also @Asivad and few others would know as i think this point was raised last year on this forum)

If you are an expat (residing in another country other than your home nation) is it mandatory to declare in your post ITA eAPR all your short sojourns/travels to visit home (country) & family once in a while for few days (say a week or two/three)?

@Asivad or anyone knowledgeable can answer or quote their personal experience on this.

Travels between country of birth and country of residence need not be declared in the travel history section.

However, if you're saying that OP does not have to mention his trip to India so he can provide his old PCC that is not a good plan as he still has to provide his passport stamps.

Did not clearly understand what you mean there...effectively your two sentences above contradict each other. So what should one do?

Do you mean don't mention it in the travel history but at the same time don't forget to attach a PCC for it?

But you also said "...not mentioning his trips to India is not a good plan."

Lol yes.

I meant to say that he still has to provide a new PCC - as even though he doesn't have to mention the trip in the travel history it will still be evident that he travelled back to India due to his stamps.

AFAIK for eAPR one needs to provide the Passport Bio pages (First and Last pages) only. Please correct me if i am wrong here.

"You must provide a clear, legible copy of your valid passport.

Include a copy of the page that shows your birth date, country of origin, etc. any pages with stamps, visas or markings."

Hi Asivad,

Thanks for your reply.

I actually managed to call CIC just now and explained the situation. They advised me as long as:
1. Did not stay more than 6 months after the date on the PCC
2. PCC issued has not expiry

Then it's all good. I asked him so how would they tell if you have stayed more than 6 months after the PCC was issued and he says they look at the stamps in the passport which then makes sense.

As to your quote below. Yes so what happened was I came to Canada to start my new job and returned to my home country to get a fresh PCC to fulfill the need of having it issued after the last time I lived there.

Thanks
This was mentioned on the other post. OP says that he/she contacted CIC and they said that as long as the someone did not stay more than 6 months after the date of issue of PCC, it should be fine.

This sounds good news if reliable and true.

Disagree. IRCC agents are notorious for providing misleading and incorrect information. IRCC site explains this clearly enough. PCC for countries where one no longer resides must be issued after the last time one lived in that country.

So from your quote above 'Lived' i hope doesn't include short trips home by the definition of the word.

Debatable. One can argue either ways. Prudence dictates that one avoid risks wherever possible.

Friends:

If an applicant stayed in London UK bet Jan 2009 - Jan 30 2013, should he obtain the PCC from London UK to fill the travel history after receiving ITA.
as part of the last ten years history.

As I understand, it's needed

If an applicant stayed in USA for 3 months should he obtain the PCC from FBI USA to fill the travel history after receiving ITA.
as part of the last ten years history.

Not needed

In my opinion, Getting a PCC from your home country when you're coming back from Canada for a short holiday is totally OK. I know a friend who did so and worked out for him. Living is a country means that you're a resident for more that 6 months.
