If the experience is NOT adding any points to your CRS and/or program eligibility, you don't need reference letters for that.
I have a question regarding how far in the past we go, to get reference letters. In the CRS points, 3 years or more of foreign work experience gives 100 skill transferability points. So past 5 years would do?

In my case, I am working in the same company for the last 8 years and I have a reference letter in their letterhead with job responsibilities matching with NOC.

Prior to that, for 2 years I worked in another company, for which I have an affidavit by my immediate manager.

Prior to that, I did my MBA and prior to my MBA (12-14 years ago) I have 2 years of experience, for which I don't have any affidavit yet. But I spoke to my supervisor and he has agreed to give one. Question is -Do I need to get it at all? This one is not the same as my NOC, but quite close.

Hello - I have 4+ years US experience in IT. My ex-employer is not willing to give an experience letter. I do have an employment verification letter I got for a car loan. It has the company logo, my start date, annual pay, 40 hours worked per week, and a brief over view of the company with the kinds of IT projects they provide consulting for.
I do have the pay stubs, offer letter, and W2 for IRS. I also do have the LCA and USCIS H1B petitions proving my relationship with my employer since 2011. Would all of those qualify as a replacement for experience letter?
Please provide your words of wisdom.

Thank you and regards,
Rajesh
