Self employed work doesn't fetch u any points in the EE system. U can show it but will not make a difference when u check the box that says self employed for ur 1 yr work experience

Consider taking along your job offer letter, pay stubs, tax assessment forms, ex-colleague/supervisor's business card etc.
Hi Asivad,

I have spoken to notary firms here and they are not considering any alternative options, the signatory must be present before the notary public. Do you know how else I can prove my duties and responsibilities aside from a statutory declaration? Can I just prepare a plain reference/experience letter, have my manager sign and scan and send to CO? Thanks

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone with the same experience too. Thanks

I am trying to get a work reference letter from my manager/ co worker for one of pervious employments (NOC 2171). THe company has given a standard relieving letter with date of joining/leaving and designation only. NO jobs/ responsibilities.

Can someone help me with the format of the letter from manager. Should the person writing the reference letter menition if he was my manager during the term or is jut mentioning his deisgnation at the end is good enough?

Notarized reference letters written on plain paper are themselves 'stretch' workarounds. I'm not sure if non-notarized reference letters would be acceptable but you can certainly give it a try. What doesn't work for sure is a self-declared reference letter so anything else is worth a shot.

bank statements where it shows the company name and salary received
email copy from HR of that company stating that they cant give a reference letter.
affidavit(notarized) from my ex-colleague as reference letter along with job, hours and roles . proof of his employment
certificates from that company and id card scan copy. ;)

hope this is correct and helps others

Hi ,

How come u r exp is exact replica of NOC list ? Did you copy paste the contact from NOC website and gave it to HR ?
It is not good idea if u did like that
And based on what you made that conclusion?
I am just amazed how people make up self-declared letters and think CIC is gonna believe them when it explicitly says that it has to be signed by your supervisor..
But when a person gets a genuine letter with all requirements met, it's a "NO-NO" :D

His employer did that. And if that is what he really does and if that job is in Canada then he has nothing to worry about. As many other people who did that and already received PR status.

I can understand that it could be a problem if he got that experience outside of Canada and the employer, for example, in India, copy-pasted - that is weird. But not in Canada, sorry. Lots of people are just paranoid.
