Yes if the people are eligible to apply before July 1st, and if they need to become Canadians, then they should stay in Canada and not leaving even for a day before they accumulate 1095 days, because after 1st of July is getting tricky.

In my case I don't really need to poses Canadian passport and that why I have already arranged my vacation plans for next month and April.
But for those who will qualify before 1st of July and they need that citizenship... make sure you guys stay in Canada to accumulate your day before Canada Day.

OK it looks like the mystery with the cut off date is coming to an end.
When I called the call centre I wanted to speak with the supervisor on duty, simply because the regular call agents are proven to give misleading information most of the time when the people ask them.

So the supervisor said that they will update the new guide and the new forms at the beginning of June (one month before the enforcement) The cut off date is expected to be on the 1st of July, because it is the starting point of the 2015-2016 season in which they will have the goal to decrease the backlog by 80%.

The notice and the upload of the new forms and guides will happen June and the enforcement will start from July 2015.

We all know that something is coming but nobody knows exactly when... of course that the cut off date matters for the people, why do you think they keep on asking.
The government is playing with them, by keeping the date in mystery.
MUFC - I understand your POV; but its not true that govt is playing of some sort. I read it this way - Govt does not have the answer yet. whey they have it, they would announce. Well, one could ask - when will they have it (its good (& in good sense) to act dumb sometimes, you see)? Although, its the same debate again, unfortunately!

They will know it when they know it! and will tell us when its known to them.

Yep; that would be the sensible move, until the unknown is known! its that simple, at the moment!

That seems to make sense. The June/July timeframe seems to fit in the definition of APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR after June 2014 signed bill. Unlike someone who say December 2015 falls within the definition of approximate 1 year after June 2014.

I just like to know fixed, accurate and correct stuff with numbers...

After the conversation with the supervisor I know the stuff with exact dates. For me the mystery is over.

So in this case "Approximately means +12 days after june 19"

OK. Let's assume it is July 1st

If I have the 1095 days at the end of June. Should I apply with just a few days after that limit, or does it automatically mean RQ?
I don't have anything special besides taking vacations often (~20 days per year) usually on long weekends and such

The RQ story depends entirely on the agent... some people have had RQ, some don't with the minimum days 1095.

I am not going to qualify before July 1st because I have already arranged my vacations travels.

So does this fit the definition of approximate then?

Of course it fits simply because that word gives flexibility I admit that your understanding of Approximately in that case were more accurate than mine and I can admit it now because of the insight information. So in this case yes you won . The date is indeed 1st July

I have a minimum number of days before the July 1st (+ I have a few weeks after landing when I traveled around Canada, but didn't settle yet)
I have no problem to provide the documentation for work/lease, bank account etc for the RQ, but I heard the RQ process is taking 4 years (and counting) for many people

So obviously I would prefer to apply a year after than to wait for for the RQ ...

Many people are worried about that RQ, but the reality is that there is no scenario which can guarantee avoidance of getting a RQ, nevertheless how many extra pounds of paper and documents the people are trying to submit with the initial application.

Getting RQ is simply unpredictable, it may happen or it might not happen.

RQ = residence questionnaire

It is a request at some point while the application is in process, where they want specific extra different documents which can confirm your physical presence in Canada.
The problem with getting a RQ is that it can take years to be processed , because the application is not routine anymore.
