How to add it. Do I’ve to sponsor again and I’ll get an another AOR.?
Go back and read your AOR. It will have basic instructions, like:
When should I contact CIC?
You must notify CIC of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:
• Changes in your personal circumstances, such as birth or adoption of a child, a marriage or a divorce
• Change of contact information (e-mail, mailing address, telephone number)
• Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual
• Decision to withdraw your application
To notify CIC of changes to your application you may contact this office at the address identified below. You may also contact the Call Centre, toll-free, at 1-888-242-2100. Changes to your address may be made through our online service at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp.

You will likely need to update IMM0008 and provide all relevant documentation about the child (mainly birth certificate, passport when available.)

Hi,

My wife and I are both Canadian Permanent Residents,

Long story short, our baby was born in USA as my wife was in USA and couldn't travel back to Canada and went into labor there.

Can some one guide me what is the process to sponsor our baby so that the baby can come back to Canada with the mother. What documents would I need for the baby?

The baby is only few days old.

I am assuming that the first step would be to obtain the baby's birth certificate and get the passport made?

Also, would the baby need to undergo medical and biometric?

I would really appreciate your guidance.

Thanks,
Hi

You will definitely have Birth certificate and a passport. Then u need to follow the Complete guide and the fill the required forms according to the country from where u r applying and from where the certificates to be enclosed are produced. So first u need to generate a document checklist according to the country u reside and then follow instructions to fill those forms. Every detail is written there but if u get stuck somewhere then u can approach again.

Medical will be needed but the biometrics are not required for infants

If your wife's application is still in process, you must add your child to the application immediately.
Now I added my Dependent in the file my submitting all the forms plus fees and supporting documents. And I’ve sent to the NS and the processing office as well. Just want to know that will I get another AOR for this?

Hi Friends,

I received an email that says my application fees has been refunded. Does this mean my application to sponsor has been rejected. Please let me know if someone has faced this.

"This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on behalf of CHILD_NAME and family (if applicable).

A refund in the amount of $85 has been initiated. If you paid by credit card, it will be credited back to your credit card account. Otherwise, a cheque will be mailed to you at the address indicated above in approximately six weeks to eight weeks."

Thank you!!!
Our daughter is waiting as a dependant. I added her timeline in the comment of my profile.
We were told in our SA rec may 19 that her file would be transferred in another VO but we dont know which one and ECAS doesnt say either
Just that her medical passed. :(

others applying from the same country, DR, files were sent all over the place for processing
Mexico is usually our VO but are too busy.
Many are in Dakar Seneral VO and other places

wish they would have updated us!

Thank you so much for creating this thread. I have a question - Do I need to add my wife as co-signer? Me and My wife are on PR, our daughter is born outside Canada. My wife got PR through me.

I was reading this guide for co-signer - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/non-economic-classes/family-class-assessing-sponsor.html#cosigners

As per this:

Use of a co-signer is applicable to applications to sponsor the following family members:

  • parents and grandparents
  • dependent children, in cases where their dependent child (i.e. a grandchild) is included on the application as an accompanying dependant
  • “other relatives” [R117(1)(h)]
Also it says that adding a co-signer where Income requirement is fulfilled by primary sponsor can delay the process:

In cases with a co-signer where the sponsor’s income alone is sufficient to meet MNI and there is the possibility that processing may need to be suspended in order to investigate the co-signer’s eligibility, an officer should contact the sponsor and recommend that the co-signer withdraw to prevent unnecessary delays. This will prevent unnecessary delays and the possibility of a negative sponsorship eligibility decision.
I have co-signed
And we were approved for SA within 2-3 weeks after. Not sure what delays it could cause from here as i have co signed as well.... and provided all income information upfront.

I guess, after completing the processing of your sponsorship application, they might have forwarded your case to visa issuing office of the country your child is residing in....not fully sure though.
We applied to sponsor my husbands Dependant child May 27,2021 AOR received 7 days later and SA and Medical request was received the week after. In our SA letter it stated that our dependant app was sent to a VO in Dakar??? the dependant is from Dominican Republic and the VO should be Mexico LOL
So I think it may be safe to say they send them wherever. I could be wrong but Im just happy its moving
