Dependent Child Sponsorship - 2021

Our daughter is waiting as a dependant. I added her timeline in the comment of my profile.
We were told in our SA rec may 19 that her file would be transferred in another VO but we dont know which one and ECAS doesnt say either
Just that her medical passed.

others applying from the same country, DR, files were sent all over the place for processing
Mexico is usually our VO but are too busy.
Many are in Dakar Seneral VO and other places

wish they would have updated us!

We applied to sponsor my husbands Dependant child May 27,2021 AOR received 7 days later and SA and Medical request was received the week after. In our SA letter it stated that our dependant app was sent to a VO in Dakar??? the dependant is from Dominican Republic and the VO should be Mexico LOL
So I think it may be safe to say they send them wherever. I could be wrong but Im just happy its moving

These aor sa and medicals are rarely a slow part of processing

I have a similar timeline, but my medical passed in May... I do see that I have additional documents are needed, will send further details, but I havent received anything...

No I understand that a lot are moving now . I guess I am comparing to when I did my spousal app. Aor took 3 months and medical took almost 9 months this is much faster
But I still don’t understand why our app was sent to Dakar it baffles me lol. I’m hoping someone has some insight

I believe it is all depend with the work load at the VO abroad. My son application was sent 2 weeks ago to Dar-es-Salaam instead of South Africa. My daughter's file application was sent 3 years ago to Dakar..

Thank you so much for your response , I too believe that they are sending apps right now where there is available space . I just found it so strange that a Latin American application would be sent to Dakar , but I guess they all process the same

May I ask what the processing time was for your dependant daughters

Thank you so much , I hope it’s just as quick for us . Mexico VO which the application should have been sent was slow for my husband , his application in 2018/2019 took 16 months

I have co-signed
And we were approved for SA within 2-3 weeks after. Not sure what delays it could cause from here as i have co signed as well.... and provided all income information upfront.

I didnt co-sign because no minimum income needed, plus Husband works. But you are correct like how many delays can there be for a small child.

Me and my wife moved to Canada in Dec 2019 as PR. I am working overseas for oil and gas industry one month on and off. When my wife got pregnant i sent her to India to our family so she won't feel alone. The plan was to travel to Canada before delivery. But at the last moment our flight was cancelled and we were also scared as this is our first baby so we decided to deliver in india. My daughter is one month old now and i have already applied for her indian passport which i will get in few days.

Now my question is should i go for sponsorship of my daughter? Or apply for trv for my daughter and then apply for pr when in canada. What will be the processing time in each scenario? Kindly help me. If there is anyone with my circumstances that will also help.

Yes one can do that but put your fingers crossed to get approve for TRV, especially if you didn't declared your dependent.

There's no way to change the application to inland, just update address. Landing can be done in Canada.

It won't change it to an inland app but for a minor the advantage of an inland - the open work permit - is irrelevant.
