Hello Everyone,
I am going to apply my citizenship in April, I’ve question, I’ve completed 1 year accounting/ Payroll diploma from Canadian college after getting my PR, do I still need to do ESL? Or this 1 year Canadian study will work as English proficiency requirement? Thanks in advance.

There is no requirement specifying the length of Canadian education completed. It should work as long as it is completed in Canada. OR
You can also attach your IELTS or CELPIP which you would have provided for your PR application even if it is expired.

I got an interview request today after completing the citizenship test and updated after 3 weeks. I sent in my application on Dec 6, 2024. I am not in Canada because I have to leave Canada in December to take care of personal issues but I went to Canada to take the test. I also had to resign the job I had and still have some work to do for a couple of months to complete my stuff outside Canada. I will go to the interview in person but I am really concerned if I will be rejected for any of these reasons? Especially not having a job in Canada atm and I am currently unemployed. Any body in the same boat or any tips please? All other stuff is accurate and complies with what they ask on residency requirements, no criminal background, language requirements etc. I have no intention to hide or misrepresent my situation and I will say why I am not in Canada during the interview
Hoping you informed them every time your trip was longer than two weeks.
I don’t think your job status matters here.
But frankly, I don’t know but Id say dont sweat it. Dont lie. I think the interview officer would understand your situation.
Try asking scylla or legalfalcon. Feel free to tag them.
I think theres a thread named “thank you legalfalcon” for asking legalfalcon.
This is from 4 years ago i dont know if they r still active.

If you do not have job - It doesn't matter : This is your personal siutation.

IRCC looks into if you have completed the days requirement and there are no criminal cases against you. Rest you can travel any amount of time and any number. People have many civil issues, like divorce, etc etc. They are civil & do not impact your application. Also, in your interview, be brief and precise why you are out, do not confuse the officer with too many details, if they ask you questions.

If you think IRCC has taken some decision which you do not think is right than its better to hire immigration attorney as they can communicate better with IRCC
Do you want to tag the original question and not my response? You can edit it.

Also, although one can travel but one has to inform ircc. Source: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/after-apply-next-steps.html#:~:text=plan to leave Canada for more than 2 weeks in a row

Hi everyone, I am SUPER worried! We submitted my mum's application on December 6th, received AOR via email Dec 13th.
When I logged in to the account, it doesn't even update AOR - it just still says "Application submitted". We have heard nothing since receiving the email on Dec 13th.
I came here to see that many of you are almost at the finish line and it's making me extremely worried! We are in Quebec.
Should I contact them?

You are on the wrong platform to check your status, you have to make a "tracker accont" and follow up your process there, looks like you are checking the application submitting platform right now, just search on youtube "how to make tracker account for canada citizenship" and you will be guided.
