Hi Everybody,
I sent my application documents by FedEx last Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised today by a message that advised by documents were received in Sydney, NS at CIO - Intake Office. I am so excited. Here are my questions:
1. Exactly what should I be doing now while waiting for a positive response?
2. How soon will I get a response and what type of acknowledgement should I receive?
3. I have noticed that sometimes a cap number (total available occupations based) goes down and not up. What causes a downward fluctuation?
4. How do I join the group shown on spreadsheet for the tracking of various stages of application progress?
i have filed my application on 17 dec and have realised that i forgot to fill my name in native language in the form. plz suggest what should i do?????

MINOR MISTAKE....DONT WORRY......

dr rohit,

dont you think that he needs to resubmit a new form with a cover explaining the reason. To be sent as an addendum?

CIC might reject his application on the initial stage for not providing this info.

What do u think?

I got your point.

What I understood from it if your native language english then of course no need. If you have a native language other than engliah then it should be written.

This is just my understanding!

Thanks Faizan, I have not completed my PhD yet. I have masters from Canada in biology. I just submitted a copy of my Masters certificate and I totally forgot to include my transcript. Also, I just included proofs of my Canadian education since I came here in 2010 (MSc in Biology and Pharmacy entry to practice certificate from BC), and I found it unnecessary to include the certificates from my home country. Do you think my situation is horrible?
Thanks

Generally I think there should be no problem (as your degrees are Canadian). They ask for transcript if educational credentials are from foreign universities and get them equalized so they could match your degrees n transcripts to ECA report. Personally, I dont think this rule should apply to Canadian degrees. And for PhD stream transcript is only required if you have completed your PhD, otherwise it is not required but you must submit official letter on letterhead from university from which you are currently enrolled in PhD and the format of attestation letter is available here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/PhD_Attestation_EN.pdf

You Are Not required to submit transcripts of any of your masters or bachelors degrees if you are currently enrolled in any Canadian University for PhD.

It is not a problem at all. They will not give your application back because of this. Numerous examples are there of people who made the same mistake and still got PER.

I called up DHL to confirm my signed for delivery. They said it was signed by Mike on 24 Dec 10:33. Now I m confirmed that it has reached its destination as DHL had made a mistake in the address to 19 Dorchester street instead of 49 Dorchester street. I read in the above replies in this forum as well that someone's application too was received at same time and by same person Mike. So I m confident of my delivery now.
Thanks to all the senior people out here for taking out your precious time for replying to queries. It helps a lot.

all is well :) best wishes

Hello Guys!

I sent my application package a few days ago on December 23rd and it is supposed to reach Sydney on December 30th, do you think I'll make it into the cap of 2281? And do you think it is ok if I submit my Express Entry application as well on January the 1st when it opens along with the paper application?

Express Entry is not first come first serve rather the most eligible first kinda process. its ur decision but i guess very soon u will know (by mid of jan) whether cap got u or not and then u plan ur EE startegy :) all the best!
