Here's the website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp
And this video goes through how to do it - http://goo.gl/zl3UP

You (or your partner) need to be in Canada to do it. If the sponsor is ordering them, the sponsored spouse needs to sign a consent form. It's all on the website. :)

MapleLeafBride, since we're both being processed via Ottawa, thought I'd ask, have you requested notes? If so, did you find them helpful?

Hi Crawf307. Just ordered them yesterday. I am hoping they have something useful on them at this point. We sent in an updated FBI check (not asked for) a few months ago, so wanted to see if there was any note of that. Will keep you posted!

Hi Omek,

After you submit the original passport, they will send it back with your COPR. Then you can come to Canada by plane and officially become a Permanent Resident after you fill in the forms at the airport.

If you are already in Canada, you must go to a US Border and "leave" Canada and come back to officially "land" in Canada as a new Permanent Resident.

Congrats and Welcome to Canada!

According to the CIC website, the Rome VO takes 13 months to process applications. Any idea why your application was process so fast?

Remember, the time posted on the CIC website is how long it took them to process 80% of the applications received within a certain time frame. It's not the average processing time. 80% of people who submitted during a certain time period were completed within 13 months for Rome.

The dataset at http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3 can be downloaded and it has posted times for 20, 30, 50, 70, and 80% of cases received. The 50% value would be more indicative of the average.

I did not know this. Thank you very much.

Make sure you guys keep emails and any supporting evidence proving your relationship safe... and make sure you check your eCAS and email and mail regularly for requests...
It is sad that if lost it could mean extreme complications...

That story in the star website is insane. This indicates that the ECAS was never updated to "Passport Requested".

Hi everybody,

Like everyone processed by CPP-Ottawa we are still patiently waiting for something to happen. It has really helped us to check on this spreadsheet every week or so: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq6VF-LGjkR9dGNpLUxQZ1Z0Mm80aE5ZWDBvWklEQUE#gid=0

It shows all the applicants from the forum for the last year and a half or so, plus where they are at in the process. It's encouraging to see things progress over the weeks -- it shouldn't be too much longer for the December 2013 applicants!

We ordered an update background check a few weeks ago that we will send in as soon as we get it.. other than that, I guess there's not much we can do but wait!

Good luck everyone!
