According to the CIC website, the Rome VO takes 13 months to process applications. Any idea why your application was process so fast?

Hi Omek,

After you submit the original passport, they will send it back with your COPR. Then you can come to Canada by plane and officially become a Permanent Resident after you fill in the forms at the airport.

If you are already in Canada, you must go to a US Border and "leave" Canada and come back to officially "land" in Canada as a new Permanent Resident.

You might want to ask the Senior members of this Forum. There is a special form to fill out with your goods and they are all exempt from any duties or customs. But I think you have to bring them all at once.

Email them. Mine were at 34 days so I emailed then and a couple hours later they sent me them.

This shouldn't be relevant because the notes are supposed to arrive within 30 calendar days. I got mine on the 30th day, like clockwork.

Did you check your spam folder? They send the notes to the sponsor's email address or whichever one you specified when you filed the request.

Woohoo that's the spreadsheet I update I'm happy I am helping you get through this a bit lol. I just noticed that someone who's application got to Ottawa Dec 3rd 2014 just got an additional document request today.. so it's almost your turn!

Yes sorry it's atip-aiprp @ cic.gc.ca (no spaces) make sure you include your tracking number and receipt number if you paid, your info and the applicant/sponsor, and when you sent it in.

Trying to relax while watching my future slowly slip through my fingers as it gets closer to 5 PM in São Paulo (it's 2PM there now) and UPS haven't tried to make their last attempt to deliver my passport to the Consulate yet.

What do you guys usually do to help ease this kind of... hopelessness?
Taking a bath isn't helping.

If I can convince one of you guys not to waste your money on UPS, I'll sleep better tonight.
It's 4:15 AM where I am and I'm up trying to contact long lost relatives to pick up my passport at the UPS store because they failed all three attempts to deliver my passport during business hours (Sorry but 6:47 PM isn't even close, I can't even say they tried, but repeating the same process three times when they're well aware that it is a business delivery...).
So remember to use FeDex! ;D

In fact, I've already decided that when I get COPR I will go in person to the embassy to get my visa stamped. The last thing I need is for some space cadets to lose my passport. Not when I've already been through so much with this process.

Thanks!!!.. I emailed them this morning and got my notes like 2 hours after....but it doesnt even say anything about why they want my husband to go for an interview or anythng :S ..... sooo confussing.......

Thank you for your sympathy! And although it was extremely stressful and I wasn't sure what to do (I was even considering giving my grandma a vacation to São Paulo tomorrow ), I'm genuinely trying to look out for my fellow thread mates and share my experience!
And you're doing it right, I've heard of cases where people get their visas on the same day when they drop it off in person.

Sincerely, you guys, if you're waiting in Canada or in a third country, and your only option is to hire a courier, take your time to do some research, look for the most popular and efficient company in the country of destination. And if you're gonna mail it via UPS, put your passport in a box! Envelopes are not in their area of expertise.
