We received the Confirmation of Permanent Residence today in our mailbox! Yeah .

I just wanted to update my status as we just received our passports back on Thursday

Medicals sent Nov 6
Passport request Nov 12
Passport sent Nov 15
Passport received (from CIC) Nov 28

Thanks to everyone who shared their info. It certainly helped the wait to be more bearable! Hope everyone else who's still waiting gets good news soon!

Till oct, there was no reply then applied for
GCMS Notes and found out that according to
VO my duties were not matched with NOC .
And my status was " review required" .I believe
The VO requested another officer for another review
At the last it said" awaiting officer review required before
Sending RCMP Finger print to PA"
I sent them an explanation letter and i added
Few duties missing in the reference letter
Few days later i received finger print
Request and they received it after two weeks.
Now i know finger print is just criminality check
But some part of me think i passed eligibility check
Coz if they were gonna reject then y would
They send finger print request ..
I may be wrong or right ..
Plz share your suggestions

Can RCMP be requested by CIC even after medicals received cases?
If it's true, do you think it's better to get RCMP done and send results to CPP-O ?

I heard CIC asks RCMP only few applicants that too if they found a match on full name of applicant to rule out no offences based on RCMP results. That's why no need to do RCMP upfront unless they ask us.

As long as you didn't get any request from cic, you don't need to submit RCMP . The best way to check if RCMP is required is by ordering gcms. Under criminality section, sub activity RCMP screening, there can be 2 outcomes : no reportable trace or finger prints required. You should get fingerprints done if you see fingerprints required.

if fingerprints were required, they would have most probably sent that before / along with MR .

Did you also get rprf ? If both rprf and Meds have come, you may not require RCMP .

However, police certificates from all countries that you ever lived in (excluding Canada) for more than 6 months are must. I hope you have already submitted them.

RPRF paid upfront so previous GCMS says : RPRF = Complete. But, I did not send bio-data upfront. CIC did not send any bio-data till date.
Previous GCMS says: criminality = in progress.
Waiting for new GCMS notes.

This means a visa stamping is required for you.

Send bio data upon request by CIC.

3. In general Security check will take how many weeks/months ?

CIC will never disclose what is done as a part of security check. I think CIC sends a request CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) who do these checks and send results to CIC. You'll never be able to see any details about security in GCMS. All these details will be hidden. It take as little as a day or can take months. I guess your current security status is Not started. Once they start security, next status changes (to In progress, Passed) will not be visible in the GCMS file release to you.
