Hi everyone!

CPC Mississauga received our file December 30, 2011 and we got our e-mail stating that they received our file on that date on February 7, 2012 and just today (February 15, 2012) I received an e-mail saying I met the requirements of a sponsor and that our application is being sent to Delhi!! Hopefully it doesn't take too long and the 6 months wait time isn't true! Good luck to everyone else!

KS

Awesome...i wish i could hear something from CIC soon, i sent my application on Jan12 2012 :) and my VO is Newdelhi too :) Hope for the best...

This might be a silly question but how do I add myself onto the December 2011 spreadsheet so others can follow along? I can't seem to edit it--any help?

@myboo thank you! good luck to ur file as well!

@nanipanjakadi thank you and I wish you all the best too!

64 days waiting and still haven't received any answer for my approval :( why is it so long compare to other december applicants?

I'm in the same situation. They received my application form on December 16th and I still haven't received my sponsor approval. the only thing I received from CIC was my AOR which they emailed me a week ago. I'm kinda disappointed since many people applying after I did have received sponsorship approval but nothing for us yet :(

They updated wait time to 53 days. So I would suggest you to call CIC today and find out the status of your application.

Hi, I'm new here but have been reading for a while, so...
We have an application in for our (step)son (dependant, family class reunification) which was submitted on Dec. 2, 201. We received our AOR on Jan 23, 2012 and our sponsorship has not yet been approved. We are in Canada so the papers went to the Mississauga office. I called CIC today and all they could tell me is that the sponsorship approval is taking longer than expected, is not yet approved and that they are 'investigating'. It is very frustrating especially since my son was previously in Canada (2010-2011) and we tried to apply for him from within Canada (sponsorship and permanent residence) but because the Canadian government made no provision for UNACCOMPANIED MINORS to immigrate from within Canada, they viewed our application as a H&C (humanitarian and compassionate) application which it was never intended to be. I am Canadian (born) and my husband is now a Canadian Citizen - there is no reason why we would apply under that Class when the Family Class is the easiest and fastest. But even though we tried to explain that they had made an error, they would hear nothing of it.... So we resubmitted his application on Dec. 2 and now they are 'investigating'???

Anyway, rant over. laleh_d - and anyone else who is over the time should call CIC and find out why your sponsorship approval has exceeded their quoted time... if there is a problem, at least you will be able to attend to it. After all this is the government we are dealing with and the last thing you want is for your application to get mislaid/lost or for them to 'think' that they have informed you of some special requirement, only to find out months later that you never got the email/letter/whatever.

I will be calling them weekly for updates on our sponsorship.

PS: Please add me to the December spreadsheet. Thanks! :-*

Hello Everybody,

I am new to the forum. I wanted to share my timeline and also have a few questions that i thought would share with everyone.

Application sent date : 30 Dec 2011
AOR date: 15 Feb 2012
Sponser Approved : 16 Feb 2012

I have a few questions

1) After I receive my PPR, within how many days do i have to submit my passport to the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi? Is there a time limit for that?

2) If I submit the passport 2 months after receiving my PPR, would it in anyway delay my process? To be precise will the VO in NewDelhi still process my file even if i do not send my passport or will they keep my file on hold till the passport is received?

Thanks,
Karp

Congrats on being approved.

1. I guess you would get 30 days to submit passport.
2. You cannot cross that 30 days period. Once you submit PP, it will take around 30 days roughly to get it back with VISA. YEs, they will wait until you send the passport.
