So you were born and raised in Canada and your mom works as a city councilor and that allows you to talk to people from different nationalities with such abusive and presumptuous tone? It doesn't matter where you come from dude, human beings are all the same. your comments are racist but I think you have a deeper underlying issue so I am not going to take this conversation any further because I don't see a point in it.

you are calling me racist. please look at the other comments.

I'm just going to end it right here. and I'm not leaving another comment about this.

I'm sorry if I hurt anybody about what I have said.

I did not call you racist Bilaldxb. I said your comments were racist and I still believe in what I said. I think Missmini is right. We need to move on and continue supporting each other in this process. Hope you all hear good news soon.

Good news!!!!

My friend's lawyer received an email from Ankara asking her to deposit $490 landing fee. Her lawyer told her that the next step will be ppr and this step won't take longer than 4 weeks:D
She applied in Dec 2010 and Damascus started processing her file on Jan 2011.

Will talk to her tomorrow and keep u posted.

As it was discussed earlier, it seems that Mid-March is bringing us lots of good news enshalah. ;D
It seems that Damascus processing time is considered. This is a good news and can answer the question of those who weren't sure if Ankara is going to start the process from scratch or Damascus time-line is considered.

If we consider the closure of Damascus (Jan End) as the starting point of other visa offices, she has received a notification in 1.5 months only. So for sure our files aren't supposed to be processed for a complete 5 months in Ankara if we have been waiting for long time in Damascus.

Oh great and exciting news!! :)
Fingers crossed that the lawyer is right, because if I remember correctly A+M received email from Damascus back in summer to submit the $490 and she is still waiting! :(
But still exciting news, yaaaaaaay! :) Thanks for sharing!

still waiting said:
the sponsor would need to fill IMM 5563 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf) and the sponsored person -since they don't reside in Canada- would need to fill IMM 5475 (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf) which is an authorization to reveal private documents. You would only need to fill the use of representative form IF you have a representative: This form is for people who wish to appoint a representative (an immigration consultant, lawyer, friend, family member, etc.) who will conduct business with Citizenship and Immigration Canada on their behalf.
Hope this was helpful and best of luck.

tnx a lot for ur help

Since my friend has been waiting for 14 months I'm not sure which scenario is more probable. What I understood from the previous posts there might be 2 different scenarios:

1) The Damascus time-line which is 14 months will be applied. (when we applied it was 9 but during the process it increased to 10, 13 and 14 months respectively). With this scenario it doesn't make any difference which visa office is working on ur file.....Damascus time-line is going to be applied.

2) Based on the second scenario, those files which were received by Damascus are going to be treated differently. Since the processing time of Ankara is only 5 months and a part of work was done on the files in Damascus ppl will face less than 5 months waiting.

Lets keep fingers crossed!

han?!
Don't tell me?! The landing fee was paid 6 months ago and yet she hasn't been asked for the passport!!
Vivi jan,
I'll assume that the lawyer is correct........I'm feeling so sorry for A+M....why it has taken so long for her case?
