Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hello guys! So Damascus received my application in AUGUST 2011 and so far I haven't got any response. HOWEVER, I COMPLETLY forgot to do the "CSQ" which means "Certificat de Selection du Quebec". I'm going to do it this week. Do you think this will affect my application? Is there a possibility they haven't started processing my folder because I didn't do the "CSQ" yet?

i'm from quebec too, and what I have been told is that your file could not process if you don't submit the CSQ and the formulaire d'engagement, so do it as soon as possible and it doesnt take time at all, you gonna recive a response in 2 weeks .....I got my approval and certificat de selection in 2 weeks exactly, no more no less.....so fill the forms and send them as soona s possible

Hello dear Applicants
I wanna share a personal experience about how these canadian embassy receptionists are confused and their answers would sometimes change people's lives .

It was 2 years ago that I decided to file for spouse sponsership, I thought the best place to get a legitimate answer would be " of course" Canadian embassy ( tehran) ??? , Ya right!!!!
I asked: what are the documents needed and whow long does it take and what not...
The receptionist replied : " you have to go back to Canada, get a high paying job , pay taxes , mortgage a property , after at least ONE YEAR you could apply for the sponsership????? How screwed her mind is :.

That is why I now have to deal with a fraudulent agent instead of me applying on my own behalf.

I wish I found this forum and you guys 2 years ago. I would have been "back to the future" by now . oh well . . .

I am sorry to hear that. I had a similar situation as you. When I cam back from Iran with all the forms filled, I called CIC and she told me hold your application and don't send it because if you send it you get refused. First find a job and then apply. I started searching for a job but because I am full time student it was so hard to find a job right away. then I started searching on the internet and I found out that so many people got approval and they were unemployed. So I called the call center one more time and asked the same question. I was so lucky that was one of the most calming voices ever heared. He was so nice and said NO you don't need a job for sponsering your husband and I said Are you sure and he said yes . Then after holding for two weeks I sent my application. I know that I did not wait as long as you. But wanted to share my feelings with you so you don't feel alone. In that two week I was going crazy I was scared that how I am going to find a job quickly and could not sleep.
Anyways eventhough I got my approval I am still so scared that I don't have a job and I am scared that when VO looks my info that causes problem. I can't work now because I am full time student and in my last semester so have to work hard to graduate with high GPA and working on my application to graduate school.
So are you working now?
So what did you do then?

but then I got over the whole thing and it sometimes IS good to try to forget the bad luck ,
THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON

I live and work in Iran for the last 5 years , I also have filed my tax returns , so everything should be ok now.

I won't by any chance leave my wife and my daughter in Iran , " either we move together or I rather forget about moving back to Canada " this is what I told the lady at embassy.

I can understand its real real hard for all of you guys who have to live apart from your loved ones for a while , but PAIANE SHABE SIAH SEFID AST. ;D
meaning= there always is a light at the end of the tunnel

Guys I got a Question. Do any of you include a bank statement in your file . my agent asked me to submit a bank statement with a balance of at least $15000.

Sohrab jan could u share your experience regarding this matter?
my application is already sent to CIC miss. on Dec30,2011.

The problem is that I can't open an account With Royal bank,( from what I know is the only bank which lets people from abroad open accounts) . does any other bank let me open an account without me being present in Canada?

Any help would be appreciated .

Hi Mehdi jan,
I included bank statement, and the reason was I had just moved to Canada that time, didn't have an option C and was unemployed. Although there is no minimum income required for sponsoring spouse and dependent children, you do need to show that you are able to support yourself and also your family when they come to Canada.
So basically they can not reject saying that ok you don't have "this amount" of money in your account, but they can reject in cases of not being convinced that the sponsor will be able to support him/herself and his/her family. Here is the exact quote from Operation Manual 2, page 42:

"Sponsors of dependent children and of spouses, common-law partners or conjugal partners (unless they have dependent children who have dependent children of their own) do not have to meet financial requirements, but they do undertake to provide for the basic necessities of the sponsored applicants so that the applicants do not need social assistance. Applicants may be refused for financial reasons under A39 if they are unable or unwilling to support themselves and their dependent children and there are not adequate arrangements for their care and support. Officers should take into consideration the sponsor's financial situation and willingness to assist, as well as the financial situation or employment prospects of the applicant, if applicable."

Anyway I don't think this is the case for you at all, just wanted to say that although there's no minimum but it does go into consideration (Sohrab jan correct me if I'm wrong). So that is why I included bank statements and what me and my husband's future plans are.
Also you for sure know that since you will be living in Iran while this process is going on, you have to include intentions and plans to show that you are willing to move to Canada as soon as your family gets their visa.

I 've already sent 15 grand to my brothers account , however the account opening process is the dilemma for me right now.
So I went to the canadian embassy and got a power of attorney for my brother to act on my behalf . hopefully he could open an account for me in TO .

and with change of VO to Ankara , we are crossing our fingers to get the PPR before fall ( wheeeen the weather gets ccooolllld) ???

I am glad evrything worked fine for you. I believe when we are the most frustrated, tired, sad and angry from the stituation that we are in, that is the time that something good comes to us. I want to share my story.

3 years ago I went to Iran with my parents, when we were coming back I was deported because of my passport probelm and told me have to go to Vo and get a passport. All you guys that are from Tehran you now that how far is the international airport from Tehran .And I had no one in Tehran because My family lives In Khorasan. When I called my aunt she said her husband is going to ask his relatives there to send someone to come and pick me up. So my parents left and I waited there until 4 in the morning. You can picture how scared and mad I was. Quess who came to pick me up! My husband and his aunt. Yeah that is how we met . If I had left Iran that night I would have never met him and just one night changed my life.

By the way my husband's name is Mehdi, too.
