Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Anyone have anything new or any news from Damascus?

I emailed the embassy in Damascus asking them the status of my application, and I got this email:

Dear XXXXXX

Please be advised that the application is in queue for assessment. Please be patient as we will contact you when the application reaches the next stage of processing. In the meantime, if there is any change in the information submitted for the application please inform us as soon as possible.

For updated information on our standard processing times and for other information, we welcome you to visit our web site


I just checked my eCase and I don't see the message "Medical Results have been Received" anymore.


How long is this queue?. my application is straight forward (sponsoring spouse)

they sent me an email 1 month ago and they sasid exactly the same as urs...i dont know if assessment is different from review or not...my case is straight forward too and all i know it has been approved and i am waiting to my ppr....and when they want to send it god knows...

I think you can call lawyer from any place and pay through credit card. there are many in Toronto

when my husband went to damascus for getting his grand ma`s visa asked them ,but they didn`t give him more information

AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME AFTER DAMASCUS RECEIVED RQ FORM FOR 2010 applications: ~ 6 MONTHS

Unfortunately no change since Feb. 20

I went and looked at the other forum and saw this I am like WHY NOT US

spousal sponsorship/destination: mississauga
jan 1/2011 : sent application to CIC
jan 5/2011:rcvd by embassy in mississauga
feb 5/2011 : sponsorship approved
feb 16/2011 : CEM rcvd application
feb 17/2011: PPR..feb 25/2011 dropbox PP

1 month and a half for everything I am like impossible and all of them are at the same rate of time line
The Question is : DAMASCUS WHAT ARE YOU DOING AND WHY DONT YOU WORK

i think he payed for the landing fees

all of us paid for the landing fees when they sent the questionnaire

man man man...The people in Damascus doesn't work.....when they go to work, it takes them 2 hours to drink coffee, eat little muffin and read the newspaper. By then it will be break time. when they return from their break they talk to each other like "whats your plans for the weekend?" and "what kind of dog do you have" , "I had my beer in the sun" blah blah blah.

In a nutshell, people in Phillipe's actually work, thats why they finish things fast.

My wife's permanent residence status is "Application Received" and it's been the same for almost 3 months.

They cant understand that political views is critical in Lebanon. She already lost couple of her brothers in the previous war. Are they waiting until she dies or what?
