Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hi Everyone,

I just got off the phone with Damascus and the lady told me that the Embassy will be closing at the end of the month, and they have not worked on any files this month becaause they have been busy packing all the files.

She also told me that most of the files are already packed and they are waiting for a word from Ottawa as to where to send them, which should come in the next few days.

She told me I should call back on Thursday or Sunday to check again.

God bless you. Keep us posted when u call the embassy on the coming Sunday. Ishala wherever our files r, they r processed as fast as possible.

I truly hope that this will not further delay the process of application as it is already too long!!! This sense of not knowing what will happen is really frustrating. ???

Yes Turkey's timeline is 5 months. Although it might go up when they send them piles of files from Damascus. I was just emailing Canadian embassy regarding my passport. They seem very responsive and caring. So sending files to Tehran might not be that bad.

I think Iran Passports are getting transferred to Turkey, that's what I heard from someone that know's someone that works there.

And if you check the cic website it say's Turkey has a waiting time of only 5 month. ;D ;D

Yeah the 5 month processing time, even if it goes up a little, would be ideal for anyone at the beginning of this journey. For people like me who have already waited 9 months, it won't make that much difference ...

They was waiting that we send our application to Syria
but it is not important because middle east is changing and this is very important.

There is no guarantee that what happened to US embassy 3 decades ago and to UK embassy 3 months ago doesn't repeat to Canada embassy!! The reason they r sending out all the files is that they feel insecure.....just imagine how much stability they will face in Tehran. lol

U r absolutely right. But at the end if it eases the process for the rest of Iranians ishala ke beshe. Everything happens for a reason, maybe we were supposed to stay far from each other to know the value of patience and love more than the others...... 1 year is the price that we have to pay to build our whole life with our spouses in the future!

Yeah you are totally right Let's hope for faster processes for everyone from now

Also I would like to ask everyone please keep all of us posted if you hear something from the embassy or have a phone conversation with them, thanks a lot!

;D yeah you're right. Didn't think of that. With the situation getting worse every day sth like that is not unlikely to happen.
