That was a copy and paste of the email I received, they did say review. I was in shock when I saw that. It is not great news at all, God I hope it is wrong….

Sadly I think it is true. If you see, they are issuing visa for the applications which they have received on June 2010.
If they process with same pace, for us ( Damascus received application in August ) it would be in May.

medical exam of my wife was expired on january 10,but I sent them a new one on dec 10,so they just asked for new police certificate.

Can I ask you why there was a big gap between when you issued the application to Mississauga ( Jan 2010 ) and Starting to process your application in Damascus ( June 2010 ) ?

Actually current processing time is 9 months ;D

the gap was becasue I sent my app without option c and they returned it and asked fot it + they asked many things(bank bills,driver license,......) and I sent everthing that I could gather

For you who received the questionnaire request recently did you send it back already and if yes did they notify you that they have received it ?? Because I have sent some docs more than 2 weeks ago and nobody has notified me of the receipt yet !

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and I think you guys have done a great job.

I submitted the documents for my wife to mississauga on Nov 8th 2010. On Dec 7th 2010, the approval of the sponsorship was issued and I got the letter that my file was being forwarded to Damascus. one month later the CSQ was issued. by now everything is perfect and ahead of the schedule.

after two months when I contacted Damascus to see what is going on, they mentioned that they have received my sponsorship electronically and the physical file is not there yet after two months. I contacted the CIC call center and they advised generally the physical file stays in Canada and the officeers in Damascus are supposed to start the processing after they receive the lectronic copy of the documents.

again I contacted Damascus, the same reply: "...we have not yet received the physical file. Once we receive the application we will send an acknowledgement of receipt letter to your sponsor and commence the processing of your application."

somehow, I am freaked out. one party says that we are not going to send anything more and the other party says we wont start until we get the information that it is not supposed to be sent.
would you please advise if you have had the same problem? who should I contact? should I ask for a lawyer's help? the typical 8-9 months processing time that you are talking about is already started or it starts when they get the physical file.

my wedding is in one months also I am supposed to defend my thesis in summer. I need a solution to this problem if I want to focus on my life.

After your second contact with Damascus did you call CIC call center again ? if yes what was the reply ?

They never sent me an aknowledgement e-mail after they received the questionair.
I have sent them an email later and attached Tracking Document from DHL which shows they have received and asked for confirmation , but what they have replied was :

Dear Sir:
Please be advised that the application is in queue for review. Please be patient as we will contact you when the application reaches the next stage of processing. In the meantime, if there is any change in the information submitted for the application please inform us as soon as possible.

Hi,
I contact CIC Call Centre again, and the guy said if Damascus needs something they contact Mississauga directly and there is nothing I can do.

when I check eCAS it just shows that he sponsorship is approved and nothing is mentioned about the Damascus part.

If anybody has received any initial acknowledgement?
