hello to all:
I hope by September we have more PR issued.
I checked the CIC website and it is saying the following:


13 MONTHS WITH COMPLETE PACKAGE
WHAT ABOUT IF WE HAVE BEEN IN PROCESS MORE THAN THAT

All I know is that keeping families apart is not in the best interest of the family and why does it take so long to make a decision
the file should be studied along with the assessment of the sponsor in Missisauga and when the applicantion reaches Damascus the applicant should be contacted shortly if there is any missing info
we have submitted many info before and the medical has expired already and my lawyer is inssisting not to redo before they request one. does that mean another year from now to make a decision
this process is very hard and it affects our life

I wish for all of us to be reunited soon and good luck for everyone here

Kamal you have been waiting so long , I don't understand why they still haven't requested a new medical?? can't your lawyer or mp contact them see what's happening??? what if they lost your file???

yes you are right some documents they have requested they are saying they have never recieved so we end up sending agian and again and now the medical has expired
the lawyer send them an email last month and the answer was

Keep your requests for a minimum we will contact shortly your file is in the queeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
the question is how long is that queeeeeeeeeee

i will wait more couple weeks and i will send an email to the embassy and i am planning to redo medical on my own and drop it myself i will keep you updated on the progress

whoaaaa they lost ur file !?! i wonder how often that happens! how long have u been waiting kamal? i dont understand we pay and pay and pay for every single piece of paper requested to be acquired , translated, mailed , plus the initial process and we dont have the right to ask a question and have it answered!!!!! its so infuriating!!!

Hi Everyone,

I have applied for PR for my wife which we both live in Iran currently. Our application has been in process since August 2010.

I have contacted Embassy several times (3 weeks ago) via email and they keep telling us your file is in final stage for background checks!!!

Almost 13 months!!! Does anyone know how long it might take for them to make a decision, i mean we planned everything for this summer but now we have no clue what to do. Does this has to do anything with the situation in Syria?

question is , What is better to take class undegree then apply for Master , or I apply directly , because my degree in Business not in Economics so it ll be hard to get in....

verify with a councelor in your university they will be able to advise your for sure . and you know maybe they won't recognize your degree in business you might have to retake a few undergrad classes

amir jan no one knows how long it might take, but 13 months for sure you are almost done, no not really, i mean yes they have less workers because of the situation but it doesnt mean just because there are protests syria is working less, so be patient my friend, at least you are at the end of it and more importantly YOU ARE WITH YOUR WIFE,

Guys remember that before the processing times on cic were kinda like 30% were processed in x time and 50% were processed in y time? Now they've changed it to just the 80% of the applications.
For those of you who are interested in the average processing times, I got a file from www.data.gc.ca, which from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 for Damascus:
20% percent of the cases were completed in 6 months or less
30% 6
50% 8
70% 10
80% 11
Such a complete file! With so many other information! I liked it! Thought I should let you guys know too!

Hello Guys,
I am really depressed of what is happening to everyone here for this long wait!! And it seems our waiting game will keep going up and up!
I saw before some people suggested that we should sign petition or send email to the MPs!
We still can do that and other thing it might work if everyone called his/her MP and telling them about this story, and how the waiting period is going up and up , even we don't have reached the period that they are asking for "13 months" at least they might talk about it and do something. Honestly we are betting on our lives, if the situation in Syria got worst it means they are going to put pause on our life! they don't care if the waiting period jumped to 27 months like Dubai or other Visa offices!
Is there anyone can volunteer to write a petition , and we don't need to write our real name on it, just how everyone in this forum is suffering and the situation in Syria how is it affecting our lives as Canadians who is waiting for our beloved one, and in my opinion the situation in the middle east should be an advantage for us since the have to hurry up and finish our applications.
