hello I have a question regarding the Translated documents from Arabic to English and certified copies...

For spouse sponsorship the documents such as "marriage certificates" "civil Status" etc musrt be translated by a sworn translator ,now when I send in the documents should I photocopy the original translation and the translated document or should I send them the Original?? and make a copy for my self as reference? What if they loose the package!?!? I am so paranoid!

We sent the original and the certified translation of the documents. Of course, we made copies of everything.

Are you putting Beirut as your Visa office? HOw long do you think it will take for spouse to get PR??
Do they need to send the application to Damascus??

The files of all the applicants from lebanon, Syria, Iran, Cyprus, Jordani and Iraq are processed in Damascus. So even if you shoose Beyrouth as an office of contact they will send your application to Damascus. On the website of CIC they mention 13 month as an average to get the PPR.

13 months!?! Wow, thats just a long time...but i have heard maximum 8 months for those applications to be processed! how long have u been waiting?

well we sent photocopies of everything . the only original document they want is the police certificate.

ok sounds good...so whatever documents I have that were translated in Lebanon I keep those "originals" and just photocopy both the translation and the certificate and thats what ill submit! right just to reiterate

BTW do you know why your application is taking so long?! did u inquire? it shows under ur name u have been waiting 9 months!! did u have to resend documents or u think thats normal processing time in Beirut?? Im sending mine in 1 week to missisauga then they transfer to beirut...I dont think I can play this waiting game for more then 6 months lol....GOOD LUCK by the way

Your application will be processed in Damascus not Beirut
And if you can't wait more than 6 months then I suggest that you don't apply because this process will kill you.
If you can get a visitor visa for your partner and apply through an inland sponsorship then it will be better for you.
By the way I've been waiting for 11 months since my application arrived at Damascus and 1 year since I sent my application to Mississauga.
If you want to sponsor your partner then you should have patience.
Good luck and I hope the processing time will decrease in the future.

there's no point inquiring they won't reply lol. and no one's application was processed in less than 6 months in a longgggg time. yes keep the originals I mean Imagine the docs get lost what will you do without a wedding certificate lol. ya so the only originals are the paper the doctor gave your husband and the police certificate

Honestly that is sooo annoying....Especially for Spouses its should be done right away and top prioirity....wowwwww bass inshallah ur's will be done soon! My friends applied for her husband last oct/nov 2010 and he came in early july and my other friend applied in nov/dec 2009 and her hubby came in MArch!!!...I am started to get really nervous about sending my application I dont know how to organize it and I am worried Ill forget something........offff lol


I still need to wait for my hubby to get the military exemption card thing and send it to me...I totoally overlooked that when I was in Lebanon .....

yeah you are right man, 6 months is like a joke right now, the average is up to almost 10 11, but the thing is i was contacted by the embassy today regarding the email i sent them and as i suspected the average on their website is wrong, i was told that they are working on processing files in 10 max 11 months , 13 is just a inaccurate number, so that is a bit of good news, i mean its still alot comparing to the previous 9 to 10 months but hey its still a little less

Oh and she said if he wants to go ahead and redo medicals do it because the file will be finalized in less than 1 year for sure. *THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW IT WILL BE FINALIZED BEFORE ANOTHER YEAR... lol*
